Virtual Desktop on Steam vs. Virtual Desktop via Oculus Store
I purchased Virtual Desktop on the Oculus Store (and am using SideQuest). However, what is the benefit of using the Steam version of Virtual Desktop? Or is this the identical software that I already purchased on the Oculus Store? Are there any differences?

There are 2 very different versions of Virtual Desktop as indicated on the website: one for mobile headsets (Oculus Go, Quest and GearVR) and one for PC VR headsets (Oculus Rift, HTC Vive, Valve Index and WMR headsets).

If you have a Quest, then you have to buy it on the Oculus Quest store. Because you mentioned SideQuest, I’m guessing you have a Quest so this is the only option you have.

If you have a PC VR headset, you can buy it on the Rift store or on Steam. I recommend the latter with PC VR headsets because it gives you access to the environment workshop.

Agreed - buy it on Steam, not Oculus.

Nope, Quest runs Android and Steam is on Windows and the two are not compatible. It’s like you can’t buy a game on Steam and play it on your iPhone
