Virtual Desktop relies on the Windows On-Screen keyboard. It requires Windows 10. It will show up automatically at the bottom of the screen when you enter text fields.

This video shows it in action:

Awesome. And does that work fully when overlayed into a game/program? The plan is to build/scuplt in VR and not have to flick back and forth for reference and when using unreal engine in VR mode to navigate resources out side of unreal.

The Dashboard Overlay has a keyboard that pops out if that’s something you need. Press the SteamVR Dashboard button, go to Virtual Desktop tab and press 1 grip quickly to bring it up

I tried a bunch of variations of buttons and nothing happens in the overlay except that I can move it if I hold the grip. I have no control over the mouse nor can I select any part of the screen so even if I could bring up a keyboard I cannot select a text input field . Is there a setting I've missed to enable the window on overlay? It worked fine when in the virtual desktop app

The SteamVR keyboard should popup with a quick grip tap. Normally the laser beam act as the mouse in the Dashboard. Make sure to use the public branch of SteamVR as the beta one often breaks things.

I shall switch over to the public branch tomorrow and see if it works then but so far I've been unable to use it for anything . Knowing steam vr it's is most likely caused by the beta branch

I dont have a Virtual keyboard. It literally does not show up at all... Even after uninstalling it. It's still not there. There should be a button to recall it or something but there is not any buttons in the VD options...

Archer: right-click the Taskbar and click “Show touch keyboard button” and a button will appear next to the clock to bring it up manually.

Dear GGodin, why didn't you provide instructions about this in the first place, ie when you made the software. Maybe you did but I can't find it. Unless you tell everyone how to get the keyboard to appear, how are they supposed to guess. Why do you not write a tutorial about this and a whole lot of other things so people don't have to keep asking? Surely it would save you time in the end as you wouldn't be permanently having to answer questions here. I simply do not understand why you haven't written a comprehensive guide to your own work. Why are people left to guess. PLEASE can you point to a proper tutorial about ALL the settings of your software. It is surely the most basic requirement.
