How to Play A Non-VR Game on Virtual Desktop
I tried looking through all 19 Discussion pages, and did not notice a topic like the one above. One of the reasons I got this was to try out the Game feature.
I thought I would have go to a particular Steam Game Folder, and highlight the application/executable file on the VD gaming screen when adding a game. I tried this approach for both Dead Space and Metal Gear Solid 5, but could get no game screen (and no game at all) to show up.
Does anybody have a procedure/tips that would help me out in this area?
Although I'm confident I've overlooked something incredibly simple, apparently I'm operating with less than a full 6-pack today. Any thoughts or advice is welcome.
Would the 'game start' feature be the same whether I am using the Rift Store version or the Steam version?
Thanks again for any help you folks can provide.

It’s in the FAQ. You don’t have to add your game to the Games tab. Just launch it normally and make sure to disable SteamVR Game Theater mode in the Steam Settings.

ggodin,
Thank you for taking the time to respond. I will implement your suggestion when I get off work later today. I must confess some ignorance in that I’ve been looking for an FAQ link/page, but haven’t found it yet. It sounds like the settings you refer are associated with the Steam Program itself. I thought there was also a similar type setting if you right clicked on a game in the Library and selected ‘Properties’.
Thank you again.

The FAQ is pinned right above this thread :) http://steamcommunity.com/app/382110/discussions/0/385429254941924495/

In Steam, go to Settings, In-game and uncheck the "Use Desktop Game theater..." option

ggodin,
That was simple enough, even for me. And it works exactly as you indicated. Thank you again for your help and patience.
