Minor PSA: Disable audio mirroring in Oculus Home when using virtual desktop with an Oculus Rift.

tl;dr: Turn off audio mirroring in home if you're getting echos in virtual desktop.

Last night I booted up virtual desktop and encountered a massive audio error, causing the app's audio to loop and echo endlessly, to nearly deafening levels. Needless to say it was quite unuseable as it was.

Finally though, I found the cause. It seems virtual desktop doesn't handle audio mirroring too well, likely because it treats the headset as being a proper mirror of the desktop, while Oculus shoehorns in full repeated audio to the headset and desktop. If you're running into this problem, just go into your oculus settings and only set audio to the HMD or your preferred audio output.
