Check the FAQ: With Optimus laptops you need to set the preferred graphics processor to Nvidia GPU in the Nvidia control panel.

I found a workaround for people who have the SAME problem as me (You need Oculus Home), you goto the oculus store and download "Open VR Video Player" and you need to go to the open file thing and find it then press one of the 3D buttons at the top with your controller, it should be a cube, just try all of them if the video does not look proper. But for downloading the video, use this. Until there is a fix this will work.

You likely have your monitor and headset plugged in different GPUs

I have this same exact issue when I try to use Virtual Desktop & the Windows 10 Netflix app. If I use the browser version of Netflix it works, but the Windows 10 app itself will only play on my monitor. In the HMD, while using the app, I get a solid black screen, but I can hear audio & even see subtitles. Will this be fixed in a later update?

Ohni: this is because the Windows 10 Netflix app has DRM which prevents it from being captured. Nothing I can do about this.
