>100 cities - Longest journey ever? A brief AAR
"It is day 80, Passpartout. We have failed."

Monsieur Fogg closes his ledger and slips it back into his pocket.

"Indeed, Monsieur."

"Our course remains the same, however, and we should return to London as soon as possible."

"To London, you say?" The pilot of the hydrofoil overhears our conversation and turns around with a grin on his face. "I know of a fine way to travel there. Just take the Orient Express to Paris, then cross the Channel on the Amphitrite. You gentlemen would be there within the week!"

Monsieur Fogg raises an eyebrow ever so slightly, but he doesn't say anything.

"Here we are, gentlemen." The pilot waves us goodbye after helping me unload the suitcases onto the pier. "Enjoy your stay and don't forget to visit the Hagia Sophia! There is nothing like it elsewhere in the world!"

"Pray tell, Passpartout," Monsieur Fogg speaks with a quiver in his voice, shaking his head in utter bafflement. "Why are we still in Istanbul after 80 days of travel?"

"We have crossed the deserts in Arabia, headed deep into Africa, flew all the way to Siberia." He continues. barely suppressing his emotions. "But yet, here we are, somehow back on the edge of Europe. And not an inch closer to our goal."

"Oh Monsieur! This journey is most unfortunate indeed!" I throw my arms up, feigning ignorance as best as I could. "Somehow we keep going around in circles, as if some invisible force wants to keep us from progressing!"

"That is a ridiculous notion, Passpartout." (Relationship with Fogg deteriorated somewhat)

And so we make our way into the bustling city of Istanbul in silence.

Of course, my master didn't decide on which routes to take on our journey. I did. The world simply has so much to offer and I, Passpartout, shall not be confined from exploring it to the fullest by a foolhardy wager.

(Half a year later)

"Day 265. Finally." Monsieur Fogg scribbles another line on his third ledger book while I busy myself on writing the account of all our adventures around the world. "London. At long last."

"It has been a marvelous journey, Monsieur. If I am not mistaken, we have travelled to 107 locations all around the globe."

"Yes. All around the globe, indeed." Monsieur Fogg mumbles with a tint of annoyance in his voice.

"The world we live in is truly remarkable!" I pump my fist in the air as I recall our adventures all too clearly.

"I would agree if 'remarkable' means getting soaked in the blood of a dead air pirate, taking a bullet right in my arm, and, by jove, singing in a church amidst a crowd!"

"But all's well end's well, Monsieur. Are we not still in fine form and on our way home?"

"Right, but we are - I am completely ruined by this journey." He gazes out at the empty sky outside the bobbing airship, apparently contemplating his future without a penny in his pocket. "Passpartout. I wonder how much do I owe the bank after this long journey of ours?"

"80000 pounds, Monsieur." My master took a deep breath as he takes in the dreadful news. An exorbitant sum indeed! Still, I have to hold back a chuckle before continuing. "Well, that's what we have on us right now."

http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=535539569
"I believe that is a profit of 56000 pounds, after paying for the lost wager and returning your initial sum." Needless to say, this is one of my proudest moments in the whole journey. "I, valet extraordinaire Passpartout, do aim to please, Monsieur."

Monsieur Fogg opens his mouth, as if to say something in response, but he looks away quickly. We ride on in silence for a few moments, until I spot a twitch at the corner of his mouth. A glint of relief, I do believe!

"That's adequate, Passpartout. Most adequate indeed."

(A/N: And that's it! It was an awesome journey I finished a few days back. Sadly there isn't an achievement for doing such long and winded journeys. It is kind of amusing to see how Passpartout yelp about how his master is ruined while they had earned way more than the wagered sum. Still, it has been a great ride and I am looking forward for more adventures in the near future!)

I never traveled for leisure because I don't want to upset Fogg... That's quite the journey though! I don't think I've even been to 107 locations altogether!

The Longest Journey is only One, and It does not share power! (Double refference on a adventure game from 90s and LOTR (of course))...

BTW: Quite a journey you made there :)

While I have not quite been able to equal this, I have managed a voyage of 105 cities, lasting 272 days, and arriving home with 78,253 pounds before deducing the 24,000 pounds. I don't think I'll do that again.
