You're not wrong but tbh I will take it over what we currently have on most killers.
No one ever runs anything on Michael except tombstone pieces or hair tufts, Blight's addons are boosted as hell, most on most characters are straight up useless, etc...
Wraith is just, the closest I feel we could ever hope for regarding addons. They may have many that are same-ish, but I mean, with how many killers are and will be in the game, that feels a LOT easier to manage from a development standpoint too.
Feel free to make a thread on that or anything else you would like; but I am talking about addons right now.
Let me start by saying your entire premise is wrong. All killers should be within 15% power level of each other. Your post makes as much sense as someone saying : all survivor perks should be like those of Thalita Lyra (mostly for meme builds and pretty worthless).
One of the thing that holds wraith back is that he doesn't have an "expose" addon. His other big problem is that the chase automatically ends when someone throws a pallet. Since you were reading about his past you know that the last version of wraith before this one (which was considered "weak" by tournament players) was much stronger.
It doesn't necessarily need to be expose but it could be treated as something like after being unhooked you are broken for 2 minutes with XYZ addon.
If we are going to have "S, A, B and C" rank killers we should probably give all the C killers the best addons. It would make sense if the S killers only had completely worthless addons and probably had base kit nerfs requiring green addons to make them "ok".
It's just not true to say : "Wraith is fine".
Not sure if you are wanting to discuss, or just argue and potentially turn this into something unsavoury given how you open; but if you keep it civil I have no problem discussing these things.
Firstly, you are talking killer balance, that is not what we are talking. In this said ideal situation, the killers would still be within that level of balance of each other, and the addons would only be one factor in how they are kept as such.
Secondly, with that said, lets leave the specific balance of killers out of it, because that is irrelevant for now. The addons and the killer can be adjusted within the realms of what I've said here, so that doesn't matter.
Thirdly, I am well aware of Wraith's tier sitting both before and current. I am not debating that nor do I care to. So "wraith is fine" isn't really something I am saying or implying in any way, and I don't feel it matters either.
This is purely an example of what I feel are good addons that are the most healthy for the game, easiest to balance and keep tabs on from development standpoint, offer the most consistency, and make all rarities actually appealing at least in my opinion.
Yeah, Knight's are a good example of poor addon structure. Wraith is one of the few killers where I am choosing the rarity appropriately, even the bloodweb feels better because of it.
I actually pay attention to what I am getting. Unlike most killers I don't even use auto bloodweb fill on wraith, because I want to make sure I am getting what I want from the addons and other things.
Some killers really do have squat for addons that are actually usable. It is disappointing.
Wraith has been such a breath of fresh air for me regarding this, I didn't expect that while going down the path of learning how to play as them.
I've always liked the idea of removing the purples and making them just greens and yellows (the greens would have the purple bonus and so does the yellow with green)
And doing something interesting with his stealth an add-on idea I specifically like is doing with Surprise hits since hit and run is how I play him where getting a surprise hit muffles the noise of the game for 60 seconds (Think of the hag add-on or knock out) making Wraith way more scarier since you've now got to focus on every noise.
Another purple I also thought of is a situational one but it'd be very useful on more stealthy builds and its survivors can't hear the cloak and uncloak sound if they're 24/M away which is the same distance of hearing his bell when he cloaks or uncloaks.
Overall, I don't really want them to touch Wraith he's one of the healthiest killers currently but I wish he could be a little more stealthier.
