Scavenger (new perk) is basically just a less powerful version of built to last
Title, built to last is easier to activate and works on more than just toolboxes, there is no reason to have scavenger when built to last exists

Oh hell no man, is much better for one reason - it works passively. For BtL you have to find a locker and then sit in it wasting your time. With scavenger, you just hit greats, which good players can hit at least 80% of the time. Combine it with hyperfocus, that makes skillchecks more frequent (and gives even more progression for greats on top of that) and you have one of the best gen rushing combos in the game. Besides BtL has limited amounts of uses and gets weaker with each use, while scavenger in not only unlimited, but always makes item go from 0% to 100%.

It gets disabled after one use, so it can not be spammed. Still, with the right toolbox it is ridiculous. And even then it is because of some toolboxes being strong, not the perk itself.

But ultimately, it is still a worse version of built to last. If it refilled with as you were using it or gave more progress towards gens it would be worth it but as is it is worse.

You still decided to ignore it being passive, didn't you?

What's easier and more reliable, hitting 4 great skill checks (without the tool box, mind you) or getting in a locker and staying there for 12 seconds? Ultimately, the latter is far more reliable.

For low and mid mmr, sure. For high, you need something better than that. Also don't forget about hyperfocus and (optionally) stake out. Combined with this, you literally don't have to take anything else to gen rush more effectively, than with every gen related perk available now.

I have a feeling they're gonna nerf the toolboxes like they did to medkits in near future, each toolbox only have 16 charges, with 30,40,50% gen repair speedboost.

I'm not changing my entire playstyle and build to accommodate one perk, that is just silly. As for it being low vs high mmr, it really makes minimal difference that you over the course of the entire game you (absolute best case scenario) save roughly 5 seconds, after most likely completing or just starting a generator.

Also add in the fact that you will no longer be able to sabotage and and you have a great patch idea. They will implement this, you watch.

I mentioned the combo, not because it makes the perk viable, but because it will be broken af. Some perks have to be changed, because they would be too strong if combined with others and this is the perfect example of that.

4 Skill checks, easily. Wasting time on sitting in a locker in a difficult match can easily kill the team.

It's 12 seconds spent in a nearby locker vs potentially only getting 4 skillchecks over the course of a generator. The time you get back from the quicker access to toolbox + in a locker > the time spent waiting for 4 skill checks.

You don't spend time waiting for skill checks - you're doing a gen, which is what you should be doing anyway. And if you go to the locker, go inside a locker, sit in locker, leave the locker, and go to gen - you're wasting a buttload of time.

Exacly what I'm trying to say. If you can hit greats consistently, you actually don't have to do anything that you wouldn't do anyway - toolbox is gonna refill by itself.
