Rancor is just bad
If I go one more game running the killer and being borderline untouchable only to get instantly ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ killed at the end because hehe haha funny unavoidable noed+mori for free, I'm gonna be slightly disappointed in this game's direction.

Seriously. There is no rhyme or reason to Rancor's existence. It's other effects are fine, but the free Obsession kill is just pure B.S. What's the counterplay? Sure, I can hide out and ditch as soon as a gate is open, but that's not an excuse to justify its existence. Anyone complaining about NOED for giving "free kills for being bad at killer" needs to seriously turn their attention to Rancor.

1. NOED is a hex, which can be cleansed. Rancor is completely permanent so long as you remain the Obsession and it's so rare to change Obsession in the endgame.
2. NOED doesn't GIVE YOU A MORI, meaning if you haven't been hooked all game, YOU STILL HAVE A CHANCE

This perk is unacceptable. Downright, completely unacceptable in its current state. It is a genuine free kill for nothing, absolutely nothing to justify it.

lol wow really Rancor WTF is going on tonight

So, I don't really use rancor because it's kind of useless for 99% of the match. Take that how you will.

Avoid a rare killer using rancor for the endgame. Problem solved. If you've avoided them all match, you should be able to handle the last 1-2 minutes.

The killer still has to hit you so if you are untouchable god i fail to see the problem

If the Killer's aura is getting revealed to you when the Gen is done, they're running Rancor. Which means that you LEAVE as soon as the Doors are open. Not stand around and tea-bag or click your flashlight like a moron, you LEAVE. And besides, if you're as untouchable as you claim to be, then you should have no issues running away from the Killer.

Besides any of that, if the Killer is running NOED, they can just face camp you on a hook anyway. It takes longer that way, but it accomplishes the same task. Even worse if it's a Bubba.

Your not serious are you...? There are an enormous amount of holes in your theory.

1. You will know if killer has it so there is no element of surprise. You can see his aura and he can see yours when generator is done. So you immediately know rancor.

2. If you aren't the obsession rancor doesn't even do ANYTHING to you besides show vision briefly after gen.

3. If section one has been confirmed and you know he has rancor and your the obsession. Why the hell are you trying to do balls to the wall plays. Don't be an idiot and you'll be fine. Hide near an exit and let someone else do the gate that wont be instant downed.

I haven't seen anyone use rancor in literally months maybe a year because it's such a niche random chance perk. If you don't have the iq equivalent of a gnat there is no reason you should be dying to it or at least not thinking it's broken. Even if it was broken for some reason. The amount of hand holding survivors get with second chance perks is earth shattering.

If a survivor gets bt hit twice, ds saved once, adrenaline free health state or pick up unbreakable revive. You have to down a survivor AT LEAST 8+ times per survivor. Now that my friend is truly broken with how much time that kills. You have to focus on specifically two survivors or you will lose. By the time you hook each survivor twice or 3 survivors twice gens are all completed and the game is over. That's the big reason survivors complain about tunneling because killers have to or they will lose with how little time there is between gen speed and second chance perks coming in. But I digress. If you think rancor is op you haven't seen anything yet.

Similar to NOED, if the only hook/kill the Killer gets is during the End Game and the Killer played poorly during the rest of the game, it won't be enough to appease the Entity, and the Killer will lose rank progress

Awwwwww.... So sad.... Awwwww....
I run Rancor on just about all the killers I use for one reason and one reason only... I'll purposely let 3 go while 1 is open season on. Why? I could care less about rank or anything of that sort. I simply farm progress on challenges, but I want to be sure the other survivors know I can destroy them. Hence. 1 mori via Rancor is my standard calling card.

I use rancor and NOED for end game. That way when end game starts i usually can chain down survivors. I intentionally dont worry about the obesssion so that I can mori them end game and then focusing on hooking the others. Its a great build that gets me 2-3k on average once end game hits becuase no one cleanses NOED.

Rancor is great because its basically a survivor taken out of the end game for free. Making it easier for me to focus on hooking the remaining 2 or 3 once end game starts with my NOED. it is very strong but niche. low Rank survivors will die to NOED and Rancor both often I find.

I never see killers use it though when im survivor. But it is viable for end game builds.
