Make it so we don't have to press space when struggling on a hook.
Just a QOL change I've seen suggested many times before.

Smashing the spacebar doesn't show skill; all it does is hinder the ability for people with a sticky spacebar to survive on the hook.

Removing this function wouldn't make it easier for most survivors on the hook, but it would make it easier for survivors who need a handicap because of an error that their hardware is causing.

As an added bonus, this change would help survivors if it's one of their first times playing the game and they might not know how to struggle.

But what to replace it with?
Simply add a function that lets you 'Give Up' while on the hook.

Conclusion
The spacebar struggle function just hurts people who have a hardware error, and should be removed to give these people a handicap. No core gameplay would be changed by this. This would also help first time DBD players who might not be familier with struggling on the hook.

Mouse wheel? That's worse than spamming Space.

The best part about having to spam the spacebar is playing against a slightly laggy killer and suddenly getting killed even though you were hitting the spacebar the entire time.

they should just make it have skill checks. It's not 'lazy' but you don't have to worry about lag or sticky keys screwing you over

How does one man manage to know so little about his own game as McCote? First it was infinites take skill, then it was pretty good job, now we're having the "thrill" of tapping the spacebar instead of letting me stay alt-tabbed until I die or get rescued.

Actually that would make that (lag and fps) problem a lot worse than now. It is fine as it is.

Agreed, it's a dumb mechanic that really doesn't add anything to the game except for forcing you to apply a macro in order to not break your keyboard or fail due to a laggy killer.

An idea to replace it would be just having moderate skill checks periodically pop out in a short window and failing one will end the struggling. It keeps you way more on the edge than pressing a button repeatedly, while also requiring some reflexes.

He's talking about binding the wheel to a macro. Set it up as an autoclicker and bind it to space, press it once and let it do the job for you while you wait for the rescue.
Of course, do not open Steam Overlay or reduce to icon because it would stop.

They should just remove struggle and unhooking if someone is still. Alive running.

Unhooking is used mostly by players who put their teammates in a disadvantage.
They are bored on hook so they try unhook even if 3 people are still alive. After they fail 5hey dont want to. Smash spacebar what I can understand. So they kill themself.

Remove st4uggle, its dumb.
And i.would remove s3lf unhook too

I just created a macro so all I have to do is move my mouse wheel back and forth.
