Stop people who are selling codes on eBay..

Hi, as you (the devs) are probably aware, some people have acquired codes for exclusive content and listed them onto eBay to sell and earn money from. (some priced $200++)

I am totally against this and I think they should get banned from the game and eBay..

I have thought of a solution to this and hopefully it can be implemented and quite quickly at that.

The solution
List them yourself (as Official Dead by Daylight Exclusive Character Code) for a fraction of the price (maybe $10 per exclusive code).

Outcome
Those idiots who are trying to get $200+ for the exclusive will never sell them and in the long run YOU will have obtained more money and they will feel stupid.

I have actually waited 3 days, each about 4-6 hours just to get a "chuckles mask" code (or any code at all....) just to find out in the end that pretty much everybody were using "bots" to get the keys.
I really want a chuckles mask code but $200+ for it? Hell nah, I´d rather buy an official dbd dlc.

They should stop the exclusive codes altogether and just focus on fixing their damn game. If they want to release cosmetics, they should be available to everyone in the form of DLC.

Not cosmetics that:
- Reward those who are lucky to live close enough to attend their events.
- Reward streamers (and their goober fans) who have abused glitches on stream.
- Reward people for spending (possibly) a good deal of money they see no cut of.

a simple solution would be to just add an expiry date to the codes

when Diabetech was giving away his codes he made it so that you had to activate it within 24hrs after that it will be blacklisted i always thought that was a good idea

of course the best solution would just be to make everything available to all while you still have a fairly active playerbase but i don't see them doing that

The problem is boting.
If only the player would grab their codes and trade them among each other all would be fine. But a lot of people used bots to just stockpile codes they never wanted to use for themselfs.

Well, it looks like Sassy has decided to do some strange retweet method to give out codes to people through twitter. Still doesn't get them off eBay...

If you want them to stop selling codes on eBay you have to go onto eBay Devs...
You can't just give out codes through twitter.

Also, Sassy says she requires proof that the code is used by the person who wins. A simple name change on steam and a screenshot from a friend can easily forge this 'proof'.

Good attempt Sassy, but it will not do anything.

Here's an idea.

Why don't the Devs buy the items listed on eBay. This way, you will obtain the sellers email address and take appropriate action against them. Simply get your money back through PayPal afterwards.

I got excited when they announced the charity pack, but then immediately got disappointed, since it doesn't include the pax-exclusives.
When I remember correctly they even said in tha past that they may release a dlc that has all the exclusives, but nope, they just want to see us suffer.

Hi Insane, the charity pack will come out regardless to whether some streamers have not replied. Their content will simply not be included in the pack.
Devs mentioned in the stream that there will be other extras within the charity pack which have not been given out by streamers. So these items could be good :-).

Going back to the eBay sellers.... they are still there.

They just dont care because we are not big streamers, its a shame that the problem is still there, because they could easily do something against that. It is so unfair for people who didnt used a bot to get a Code and go nothing...

Just noticed, One has been changed to 'reduced to clear' meaning they are getting scared and want a quick sale.

If the Devs are quick and smart about this, they can do something before it gets sold.
