So uh, about generators
DBD from the very minimal lore I've absorbed and looked into says that the entity has existed for, well a very very long time. If not maybe from the start of the universe or something considering the current little charm you get from doing tricksters Tome thing.

But if it existed since at least ancient greece and back (per that one charm we got with the medusa code)...

What the hell were generators? Wheat wheels maybe? Pallets didn't exist back then so uh did they drop convieniently placed slabs of granite or something?

Discuss, or poke fun at my lack of overall knowledge of the game lmao

I think as time progress its sense of a game grew. In the movie "Cabin in the woods" they have to sacrifice a group of survivors to horror monsters to appease gods, however they commented that it was easier back in the day "all you had to was chuck a virgin into a volcano and be done with it". This is head canon of course but i think that the entity started doing this game thing after Theseus escaped the minotaurs labyrinth. It lost sure but how much fun was it to chase him? Always winning would get boring and so slowly but surely it added rules and new killers. I Imagine that the minotaur was retired he was just a big brute who would rather go through walls and just chase one guy around getting looped. As for pallets i think they are just a modern rendition of a old game rule. Thats what this is entertainment for the entity. So reality bends to fit the game, nemesis who tanked rockets gets stunned by a wooden pallet being slammed by a feng mei an e-girl. Im sure its changed throughout time generator were probably wells that had keys in the bucket you had to pull up and you needed 5 to unlock the exit, and in the future you'd probably be hacking computers and need to hack 5 to exit. Maybe it thinks 4 survivors is too little saw what humans were doing with battle royals. Now 15 years after DBD its 100 survivors making up 4 teams hacking 500 computers while 25 killers run around and cause mayhem. All this from its humble start of "Drop a guy in the maze and let him run around till minnie finds him"

With even lesser knowledge : Does the consept "lineage time" even exist for the big one? Maybe there was never a need for an adequate because the entity just take what it needs from where and when it want it.
