judging by lore and some fan art I’ve seen of the two (not NSFW before you ask) people associate them because they both have a interest in plants (in the description of one of Billy’s maps it implies he looks after the corn on the farm maps to eat) that and Billy comes from parents that showed virtually no humanity to him despite him having surprisingly great intelligence (implied by tinkers description and the fact that he figured out how to use and operate a chainsaw despite living about 25-30ish years of his life in one small room) and Claudette also being very isolated due to her introverted nature and having great intelligence with her biology but is a very caring person(one of her teachables is empathy for Christ sake).

so mostly lore parallels and that both have a plant thing.

Jake has Trapper because they literally counter eachother. Meg has Hillbilly because they are both fast and have aggressive playstyles. Claudette has Wraith because they’re both stealthy and wear dark colours. Dwight is just a generic survivor who goes with every killer, he was the first survivor.
