Why does the void exist?

I mean, they are emotionless, so they could just be sent back to earth and they wouldnt have a problem with either.

The Entity would have no benefit of returning survivors back to their worlds. It would only cost the Entity energy that could be invested into more trials and abducting even more people.

I assume the Entity wants to stay a secret from everybody and leave no traces of its existence on the Earth. Once in the realm, the Entity has complete power over everyone inside. On Earth, however, it can really only suck people into the realm. If emotionless husks started appearing, there's always a slight chance that someone could connect the dots, discover the Entity exists, and find a way to stop it.

But that's just my guess.

Well, maybe the Void is used as a means of filling Survivors and Killers with dread. They know that if they give up, they have an empty vacuum to exist within till the end of time instead of some sort of fight to keep going for.

But the lore itself says the void is just a trash can for the entity to throw away survivors who are emotionless

The void exists because it doesn't. This game doesn't have a plot. Pac-Man Party has a plot, not this.
