The New Killer

A lot of people have commonly guess for the new guy to be a skin crawler or mimic, honestly it sounds very close to john carpenters the THING and I wouldn't be suprised if it was. The idea of copying and impersonating a fellow victim is a cool concept that puts suvs on there heels, something legion should have been in the first place.

it's very clearly not. It's a bhvr original killer which is why they have so much freedom to do as they wish with the teasers and such. though you could still be right about the power, you are not about the license.

They did say that, it's just that one of Legion's trailers was a bit misleading, it made people believe the killer(s) would have the ability to disguise as other survivors. That's when BHVR stated that they'll never make an impersonator killer.

I will say tho, I'm a bit disappointed that Legion's actual power doesn't involve all 4 of the members somehow.

Also yeah, it's highly likely that this will be an original killer, not a licensed one.

All 4 start around the map. One can be in "hype mode" (ie, controlled by the player) at a time. The other 3 are in "chill" mode where they slowly wander like nem's zombies and the player can switch to controlling them.

Way back in the day, they said they would never make a ranged Killer (Huntress came out a year later), never make an impersonator Killer, and never make a Killer with allies (Nemesis and Knight, and should have included Legion too). They also said Survivors would never be able to fight back outside of pallets and flashlights (Decisive Strike within 2 years, firecrackers, basekit BT abuse, flashbangs, blast mines, etc.).

As for a modern impersonator Killer... why bother? The game in its current state is way too fast-paced for such a thing to be feasible past newb stomper ranks, and SWFs on comms can probably immediately shut the Power down entirely ("yeah Bongblaster420 and i are on the house gen so the killer is approaching your gen, ThroneTwitcher").

I always thought Knight's power should've been given to Legion, but I also understand that Legion was released during a time where the devs didn't really know the limits of what their engine could handle, and something like that would seem too crazy to actually work. Your idea makes more sense and would no doubt be way less clunky than Knight's - though I could definitely see people complaining about the RNG of Legion member spawns and behavior.

I disagree that impersonation would not be effective. First of all I don't think most teams are on coms in my experience, maybe 1 in 10. You could say the same thing about using coms giving away the position of a killer.

Imagine if a killer could repair a generator or even have a patrolling clone that only chases but can't hit. The killers can dream.

They could even give him the infection over time, like you could heal other survivors and give them invisible stacks that reduce their hook states if you do it long enough.

Again they created an anti-loop and also a teleporting killer that would be boring to play against, it’s a shame, I also thought that this would be a killer who would pretend to be a survivor, the game needs killers who will not have similar powers, at least they would come up with something new...

As usual, there’s nothing new, just copy and paste other powers, they can’t create a power that will change the game in a different direction, and the stealth perks are already annoying, why add more, maybe you'll give permanent stealth to all killers, why bother adding perks?
