hmm, have you tried repairing game files, updating your drivers, and then making sure yoru antivirus isnt interfering with the game?
past that, it may be a RAM issue. thats what makes my PC bluescreen sometiems when trying to open DBD.

i did verify files, used DDU to reinstall driver, antivirus shouldnt be doing anything tbh just have windows antivirus nothing more, ram wise ive tested it like a month ago i dont see why it should fail now, gpu wise well idk its rather almost "new" using it for at least 5 months or so

thanks for the assistance, and yeah i believe if i change the resolution to my monitor rather than the rescalated with DSR which allow me to get above my res aka 2k it should work fine, i guess theres something about it that dbd doesnt like.

so far it seems that i found the culprit of the problem with dbd.
i had to choose to perform the scale on gpu not on display.

update: not sure if because i enabled steam overlay it froze again on dbd logo.
gonna have to keep testing this, if not ill just give up on playing on a higher resolution than my monitor even with the DSR from nvidia control panel.

I FOUND A FIX FOR ME. It would do weird frame stuttering anytime I would select character, click to change a perk or addon, and my gameplay felt super rough and not smooth at all. (Menu animations were also choppy). I can now play on Ultra without the hitching.
I turned 16:9 Aspect Ratio ON.
I turned VSync ON.
FPS 120.
I turned my PC off and pulled my ram and the game worked better. I'm thinking I have a memory leak on this game to be honest. I will probably do the uninstall reinstall, wipe and reinstall my driver and check firewall settings after the event.
