Ultimately it depends on your playstyle and what you're after: A main or perks.
If you're after perks, trickster has no way out (great endgame perk), twins have coup de grace (longer lunges), knight has nowhere to hide (best tracking perk behind ultimate weapon), skully has... nothing good actually, singularity has forced hesitation (survivors near a downed one become significantly slower), slinger has dead mans switch (great info and decent slowdown), and clown has pop goes the weasel (great regression perk) and bamboozle (good chase perk on certain builds and killers).
In terms of the actual killers, trickster is a faster huntress, twins can be fun but are really good at slugging which isn't fun, knight is fun if you use your guards for things besides a free hit at pallets, merchant can also be fun if you have good drone placement (and survivors who dont dc on sight of you), deathslinger is very fun but is mid tier and has a bit of a learning curve, and lastly clown is weak and annoying though I havent played him much myself so maybe someone else disagrees on that one.
