Sudden severe lagging/sound cutting out

After the latest mid chapter update my game is nigh unplayable. It was fine before the patch, now the lag is so aggressive that my game looks like a slideshow. Plus, the sounds keeps cutting in and out.

My PC is more than capable of running DBD (especially seeing as it was running fine before). I have verified files, done a full reinstall, knocked all my graphics settings down to Low, disabled vsync, even tried switching to DX11 but the game I tried to join wouldn't even load?

If anyone has any ideas on how to rectify this I'm all ears. One patch shouldn't full on break my game... right??

It sounds like you have done most things already. Can i suggest two things:--

1. Make sure that the resolution you are running the game in, matches with the resolution of your desktop. I have found having them set different can create issues.

2. Try finding the game files, and running the game as an administrator. Find DbD.exe, right click, and then run as an admin.

Long shots, but worth a go maybe. Also, I would use a standard resolution for game and desktop, and not something quirky. So 720p or 1080p.

If you are running things in the background, especially a browser with a lot of tabs open, that could also be an issue. I doubt it, but thought I would mention it.

Thanks for trying to help! I tried to run the game as admin, and EAC kicked me right back out so WELP.

EDIT: Actually checking my windows settings, my resolution is at 1080 so my DBD settings match that, so I'm guessing the resolution isn't the issue.

I have updated all my graphics cards, and set my PC to use the NVIDIA one rather than the onboard one. Absolutely no difference at all.

I'm wondering if it's a RAM issue since my memory usage SHOOTS up when I launch the game, but it never caps out so I don't know. Is there a memory leak?

This game unplayable right now. I'm so angry that update has fully broken it for me.
