Grade Reset
The absolute worst aspect of this game, hands down. The first week after reset is literally match after match of toxic, sweaty killers who just slug for their 4K. Solo queue is literally torture when that's what you're stuck with.

Friendly reminder that grades have nothing to do with matchmaking

Grade is not a ranking system, your mmr stays the same after the reset. It's just to give you a reward for playing a lot in a month.

MMR is a myth. The game is going to queue you up with whoever is available at the time. If there are a lot of bodies in queue then it will start with skill level.

While this may be true, the matches really are horrible right after reset.

Coincidence?

Yes.

Killers are still more toxic at reset, regardless of whatever anyone thinks of MMR. Getting slugged and tunneled back to back, every day since the 13th? Nah, I think its more than a coincidence.
If you played dbd back in the day when it did actually reset your rank, you'd know what kind of a difference something like this made.

Well the matchup high aboves love to pair me with the worst, and I'm an average player that has a good escape average when not paired with randy's

That is because you are playing with whoever queued up in your region. MMR is only a factor when 30k players are on.

Maybe if you stated it as something along the lines of "In my experience / In my opinion" you wouldn't be getting this pushback for being factually wrong

Yeah because usually these things are just observation bias.

It is kinda sad that there are still some myths out there, that Grades (or Prestiges) have anything to do with Matchmaking.

Maybe another perspective to answer the question, why some (or even a lot) of players experience different shifts towards the gameplay styles?

Well, it could be one thing, that after Grade-Reset, players from a certain group (probably the better DbD players) want to get to Iri-1 again as fast as possible.

Which on the other hand could lead to another question, why for some players the games are getting harder towards the end of the cycle. Probably the players, who want to get to Iri-1 in the last week possible.

Remember: We are right before the next DLC release and ppl want to get as much BPS as possible to unlock the new perks.

One stat, which would be interesting to know, is how many and at which time the players reach the highest grade (in different MMR-Segments).

I'm not even relating them to matchmaking so much as stating how killers tend to be much more aggravating to play against the first week of grade reset. Everyone just wants to assume I'm blaming matchmaking for that, which is not surprising because people love to try to be the most right person on the internet.

I know, it's frustrating (we've all been there). But chill for a moment. I was reading the whole thread and you also stated the following:

I don't believe that is true. The first week is always this way, then it calms down.

That's why I started my answer like I did. The more focus of my answer should be on the area "ppl want to get to IRI-1 asap", which you basically ignored. But it's fine, don't worry. I just suggested a possibility, so your personal game experience can be explained. But I have no clear data on this. So that's why I suggested it would be really cool to know some stats about the grades in general.
