bannable on twitch.
just a site thing. tiktok has chosen not to ban cheaters. twitch does. bhvr cannot do anything about it on tiktok but they can ban the accounts on the DBD side, which get banned every 4 days or so.
which is important to note; bhvr does ban the one i'm thinking of every 4 days. he just makes a new account.
small edit: obv not saying i support the cheating. i don't.
i think it would be not so bad for a custom, for the people exploring the game. so... not in any way that gives them an advantage in any multiplayer scenario. some client side mods are also fine. the ones that give advantages are obviously bad. but modding also includes changes to icons ingame or some model edits, so its a hard line.
i do believe DBD used to allow modding to some extent, but it was abused too much so now it is no longer supported.
You can send BHVR the cheater's username/id though and they'll be banned again on the DBD side. They'll likely make a new account but that just means more inconvenience for them. Hopefully they'll take the hint and stop cheating at that point.
Inconvenience? There are programs that automatically print burner accounts for you (went wild when the game had free periods on non-Steam stores), and programs that automatically hunt for unused/dirt cheap grey/black market keys. Anyone already cheating in a ranked multiplayer environment would already not have qualms about using such things, especially if the thrill for them is to use cheats for trolling others.
Meanwhile, a legit user has to jump through hoops like a good little monkey to do BHVR's mod staff's job for them and maybe get a temp ban on a single burner months later. For me, Twitch has banned more accounts for displaying cheating streams than BHVR has; to be fair, Twitch already has the video evidence right there instead of requiring the reporter to manually acquire it in the middle of a match because basic replay features don't exist.
Again, its not against Tiktoks rules so they cant be banned there. They can on twitch though.
Huh, the programs about burner accounts are new to me. At least I can rest easy knowing most of them have to pay big money for it, so its their own money (and PC security) they burn.
Also cheating program bans are permanent, i believe. Unless you mean temp ban because they got a new account. I wonder how they’d work against this.
