dbd hangs all the time
Hi everyone, I have a big problem with dbd and hope to find help here. I've always been able to run dbd quickly on Ultra settings without any problems. Recently it's always hitched, i.e. I run a bit and then it hitches briefly. I have now reinstalled dbd, lowered the graphics settings and also checked the files. Unfortunately, I can't rule out the possibility that I may have changed something in the graphics card settings, but changing the individual menus didn't help me here either. My PC has no other problems with other games, e.g. Battlefield 2042 and the like, which run smoothly. Does anyone have any idea what the problem could be? Best regards

The stutter problem can be resolved using the new command "-force -dx11"

Right click on dbd on your steam library. Copy and Paste "-force -dx11" into launch options.

Unfortunately it didn't help, the problem still exists

I discovered that the external monitor causes stuttering issues in version v7.7.1. As long as a single screen output is set, there will be no problem with setting -dx11.

Could be a bottleneck

I conducted additional tests and discovered a phenomenon. Sometimes when entering DBD v7.7.1, I still experience video stuttering. If you completely exit Steam and use administrator rights to start Steam, the Dead by Daylight stutter will immediately improve.

The above tests were all initiated using the "-force -dx11" command.

Using DX11 is a band-aid fix and it means some other settings somewhere are borked, usually caused by previous attempts to try and force exclusive fullscreen mode and/or disable fullscreen optimizations. DX12 only works in borderless windowed mode.

Also, you only need to add -dx11 since -force does nothing.

For a couple of days now I´m having similar issues. The game suddenly starts stuttering so bad, that it drops to like a frame per 10 seconds. Sometimes it´s getting better after a while, but sometimes it crashes. And those crashes ofc result in those automatic temp bans. I´m at 15 mins rn, without it being my fault. :/
My PC is pretty new and powerful, so this isnt the problem.
I also get fps drops throughout some matches sometimes. Its not too bad but definitely noticeable.
Does it make a big difference playing in fullscreen mode or borderless windowed mode?

When I encounter a problem with neither full-screen nor borderless window modes, everything returns to normal only after I exit Steam and run it as an administrator.

I have verified the notebook with Intel 14th Gen + RTX 4080 or desktop Intel 10980XE + RTX 4090.

It seems to have nothing to do with the hardware settings. There seems to be an issue with the connection between DBD and the Steam program.

Unfortunately, that didn't work out either. Neither the window mode nor -dx11.

I have DX12 on my computer and a Radeon RX 580 2048SP

If it was just a slight stutter, I wouldn't have a problem with it. Unfortunately, it hitches for about half a second and then stops completely.

I've tried everything, even played on my second monitor, set the settings in the graphics card to reset.

I really don't know what to do anymore.

Haven't experienced this, weird.
