I used it mainly in a chase to see if the killer is no longer facing me. It's also useful to get early intel on the killer moving in to your generator when in a closed area.
Besides countering stealth It combo'd nicely with Resilience to create the "vault build".
True. Back when ranks mattered, I really felt like it was these perks that occasionally carried me to the red ranks, and whenever I tried a completely different strategy, I felt like I was doing really poorly, so I only made small adjustments to my own "meta" way of playing. Now, when ranks don't matter anymore, I have no idea how I compare to others skill-wise, but I'm no big deal, that's for sure. That's the main reason I'm giving up DBD.
Imagine if the killer's running a perk where you have to not look at his direction from X meters otherwise he gets a notification. How bad would survivor mains rant about a perk like that?
