"I personally do not see as well as some gamers so I rely on audio more, you can imagine how fun THAT is...
Side note, some sounds are VERY sharp and loud, making them actually physically painful if you aren't careful. Or like me have to turn up the volume."
That's my experience right there.
I really like this game, but I see more downsides from playing it than otherwise.
Just a matter of incorrect settings in Windows and/or any other audio software you're using such as Realtek / Razer and make sure that you have them all set to use only 2 channel and they are not set to use 4/5/7 because this will 100% bork up DBD audio. Also make sure that any enhancements are disabled as well as spatial audio.
Edit: This applies to anyone having audio issues in DBD. Lots of headphones come with software that fakes 3D sound and it doesn't play nice with it so things are wonky. If you make sure you're using 2 channel and have enhancements and spatial audio disabled then DBD audio will work just fine.
Thank you a lot for your input. However, I checked my windows audio software and all kinds of audio enhancements and also the spatial audio are already disabled. The headphones I use are from a brazilian brand called Pichau, which shows up as "UsB PnP Audio Device", but I also have a Salnotes Zero, which shows up as "Realtek High Definition Audio", that I use when I'm playing alone, and the same problem happens.
The most important settings is that everything is set to use 2 channel audio, I assume you double checked that setting everywhere? Or maybe for some reason your software for those headphones doesn't allow that? Certainly odd issue.
Do you have the kind that has a regular headphone jack that plugs into something that connects via USB? If so, try just plugging in the headphone jack in and by-passing the rest just to see if the same problem persists or goes away.
Just to be sure, do you mind explaining how do I check the 2 channel audio setting specifically? I'm not sure I saw it when I was browsing through the audio settings.
Sure no problem! On my system this is Windows audio settings & Razer audio settings, Realtek will have something like it as well.

Oddly enough, I played a few games today and the audio seemed to be normal. lol
Maybe because I was messing with the settings and somehow it fixed the problem? I will only be sure in a few days, after playing again.
That's odd what is the option that it is currently locked to? Do you have other audio software installed? You could try uninstalling current software and see if reinstalling same version fixes it or perhaps if there is a more current version available for your system that might help.
I recall there being a bug in either Win 10 or 11 or maybe both where the audio would be messed up due to some windows update and all that needed to be done to fix it was change any of the settings off and back on again, that was quite awhile ago but it happened to me so hopefully you stumbled onto something like that and it's fixed! Otherwise let us know!
So you might need to experiment with new updates and past updates for the audio on your computer and for your headphones.
Anyways, the audio has gone back to normal somehow. I guess that by messing with the settings it fixed the problem, but I really didn't change anything.
Thanks for your help!
