Supermassive games made some excellent horror games, I recommend you to visit those.
House of Ashes, Man of Medan... even the Quarry I really enjoyed.
I'm a really huge fan of Supermassive and this is the only game I genuinely disliked and it really pissed me off when I finished it, was not scary, the whole game is in the same ugly location, was nowhere near the quality of their previous work.
I have been playing the Quarry on and off - and it is great if you want a fun campy slasher horror vibe. The characters felt a bit obnoxious initially but they've started to grow on me over time and I can appreciate their flaws better.
I wouldn't recommend the Frank Stone game honestly. I have only really heard negative things unfortunately. From what I've gathered, the interactive story isn't actually that interactive at times as well which is a shame. It seems like something you could easily watch with no commentary on a youtube video to enjoy it like a free movie as opposed to spending time and money and hard drive space on the purchase. I also personally haven't enjoyed what I have seen and engaged with through media.
Of course if you absolutely love DBD and/or its universe and feel like you'd be itchin' to dive into the narrative - I am sure it is worth it for ~80% off if you are an avid fan. But unless you REALLY wanna' play it, I'd just dodge and watch a playthrough or skip entirely.
