What is your opinion on the Blood Moon event?
As a Killer, it feels like you're being Gen-rushed in every single game due to perks being basically non-existent in this game mode. Some Killers’ powers are heavily gutted(you can't use Plague’s vomit, Pig’s traps, or Freddy’s teleport). You also don’t have much to do as a Killer, since it basically feels like playing in a normal lobby, but with the downfalls mentioned above. (I don’t necessarily consider kicking a ca, which is essentially the same as snuffing a tote, as meaningful gameplay.)

As a Survivor, I don’t find picking up a can and depositing it on a generator to be fun gameplay either. It also feels like I’m earning significantly less Bloodpoints in this game mode, on average. I was getting around 70k per match as a Survivor, compared to 120k on the Killer side, even though Survivors had a 25% base BP increase from queue bonuses.

Overall, I consider this event to be a massive letdown, with neither side having anything particularly fun to do. At least last year, we had some cool interactions with the blood pools that added variety and buffs for both sides.

What are your thoughts or experiences with this event?

I agree with everything you say. I think this event is massively undercooked.

The blood generators are neat, but since they're the only different thing in the mode it gets old very quickly.

The event offering also only affects event scoring events and is personal, which is another massive letdown.

Yeah it's lame. Didn't think about how bad Pig would get messed up. It's crap for survivor - especially if the gool is in.
Bad. Simply because not even a single gen defence perks work against the event gens. The genrush in every lobby is insane. You either are forced to slug all the time or go with a strong chase killer all the time.
not as good as I was hoping but im glad they did the new blood generators like this, its like they are testing if this will work as a new way generators could be repaired going forward. If many people dislike the getting jerry cans and depositing them mechanic then they most likely wont go forward with it

I was curious how it'd be to find parts for generators and deposit them years ago but seeing this now I am glad they decided not to go through with that, it could probably be expanded upon though to be more enjoyable

I never thought about it that way. Makes lots of sense.

Daily awards bugged again for me, not getting them despite them saying we should be getting them

In 2017-18, the events were more straight forward. They'd decorate the generators and hooks, have new outfits, and throw in an extra bp offering that was good for everyone. The first two Halloween and Christmas events and the summer sizzler in 2018 were all like that. Then Halloween 2019 they started with the extra tasks with the pustula petals and it's only gotten worse since then. No other game I play with holiday events has anything as bad as this one does.
worst event ive ever participated in, and ive played since just before huntress release
I like that BHVR tried something new and is thinking about additional objectives to make the survivor game more engaging. However, I don't think this event is well thought out. Killer's have nothing new to do, points are given on the basis of event-related actions and all killer's can do in that regard is kick blood gens. It also completely ignores a lot of the core gameplay with little to substitute. I'd be fine with killer powers and perks on both sides not affecting gens if something was added but all they did was take that away and then add a side objective for survivors. It feels very undercooked and like half the mode is missing.

I don't think the mode is survivor-sided (too many variables like map RNG etc. to be one-sided) but I do think that it shows the lack of variety on the killer meta. Gen perks are gone leaving nothing else really. I don't mean there are no other good perks - there are plenty of strong, non-meta perks on killer. What I mean is that when it comes to meta vs meta, killers bring gen regression while survivors tend to bring in exhaustion perks, which can include haste, endurance, second chances and other benefits. Through the simple change of removing the impact of perks on blood gens, this mode removes the meta for one side but then leaves the other side's meta mostly intact, making it feel unbalanced, even if any individual game can be weighted towards killer depending on what killer it is, the map they get, how coordinated the survivors are, etc.

Only played it as killer for rewards so far, but: better than Chaos Shuffle (boring, stale) & 2v8 (killer queues aren’t infinite like they are with 2v8). Worse than Light’s Out, Haunted by Daylight and Bone Chill. Haven’t been around for an anniversary event or My Little Oni.

It's a chore. People are behaving like their lives depends on the result of the match. Not a single second of fun has been had so far.
The main issue i've noticed from the event is, whilst you bring the offering...

As survivor you get little to no bp from collecting or filling the gens, you only get the huge amount of bps after COMPLETING the repair. Meaning if you do 2/3 of the gen and someones come finishing the repair you're rekt. Should be giving points to everyone bringing an offering each time a bloodgen is done imo.

As killer, except from kicking bloodgen... the offering is pointless. (i might be missing something?)

About the gens being done quick, i'd say killers are sleeping on their gen regression WAY TO MUCH in DbD. So i bet people will cry about that a lot.

I even see killers bringing their usual "4 meta gen regression perks" to the event, as useless as it is. Guess they just log in, don't read anything, bring the best perks, put the brain away and start playing.

as a survivor main i love it, though there's been an insane amount of tunneling on it
I think its terrible and I dont understand why so many killer powers and perks dont even work, if you are going to make an event that makes survivors lives even easier, why would you make killers lives even worse? It is already faster to complete a new blood gen than a regular gen so it literally makes 0 sense
Just boring. They made the mode more survivor sided because they knew that the ghoul is a unfun ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ for survs.
