Most Annoying Tome Challenge?
What would y'all say is the absolute most annoying of the tome challenges?
I've read them and been like "That's easy" on some, "That'll take some doing" on others, then some are just... why?
Some I try doing in a single trial (Sabo a bunch of hooks, or get great skill checks), then others are just so dumb.
Hiding within 10 meters of a Killer? That's basically sniffing distance.

Just like with achievements, there are challenges that are just tedious but not necessarily difficult (like, cleanse 20 totems), and challenges that are downright brutal. Like having to 4k in basement, or having to complete 3 (4?) gens in one match while using Dark Sense.

The further back you go in the Compendium, the more you will find challenges like this. On the one hand I kind of miss them, they are supposed to be challenging after all, but on the other I don't mind the more simple tasks we get nowadays.

I try to talk to the people before the match to be like "Hey, could you help me do this?" sometimes it works. Other times they work AGAINST me.
I'm doing the 1st tome, and that Dark Sense one will get done...

The by far most difficult challenge(s) ever has to be hatch challenge. Idk if there is only 1 or 2 but they are so horribly outdated you need the stars to align to get these done.

It requires you to escape through hatch by using a key. So you need to:
>make it to the end and not get sacrificed before exit gates are opened.
>have your teammates actually LEAVE and not teabag at the exit gates which seems to be the norm behavior now.
>have the killer walk up to the hatch and actually close it, then have him walk away again.
>finally using the key to escape through hatch.

Ofc you could also just hope your teammates get killed early so you can camp for hatch but thats not only scummy towards your teammates but also your chances are even lower now because the killer doesnt need to focus on exit gates.

All that and the killer even sees you have a key in the pre-match lobby, so he will know exactly what your doing. Unless you are in low mmr, noone uses keys for aura reading when you have perks, so the keys sole purpose is hatch and killers know.
When i did this challenge, the most frustrating part was people not leaving so hatch couldnt spawn before the Egc-timer ran out.

That one is tough aswell, your best hope is to be matched with a so callend "bully" squad that is not interested in doing gens, only run around the killer and head on stunn and blind him. Otherwise you not only compete against the killer who is kicking your gens, you also compete against other survivors who naturally will do gens themselves.

I suggsest you to have bond or any other aura reading that lets you see teammates, so you know which gens they are approaching so you always have your time on the gens aswell. Afaik it only says you have to complete them in the challenge, not neccessery to do the whole 90 seconds as long as you are there when it gets finished it should count. But dont pull my hair if its diffrent, is so long ago when i did tome 1 XD

It isn't different, but, I know it'll be hard. And I have this feeling I indeed have done it before, just, without Dark Sense.
I appreciate challenges at least make us use different non-meta perks and different characters. Not that I use meta perks, that's super lame, running dead hard, noed, etc. If those are still meta.
Variety is fun. Perhaps I will run into a bully squad, if so, well... the only time I'll be glad to see em, even as Survivor (Seriously, even as Survivor, I hate bully squads).
And most funnily enough, just moments ago, I did have that type of match.
Doctor was just playing around with us, I completed 4 gens, but I'm currently on the unhook 10 people (Got 7 left)
So, there is also the possibility to run into a Killer who plays around with us, and while the others are doing that, I can do gens.

I used to hate them too because they gotta make everything personal when its only a game. But now as a killer they are so easy to 4k, the survivors that rush gens are the real challenge.

As survivor i never liked them to begin with, its just inefficient and its not fun to be the one doing gens 7 mins straight.

I despise such type of player, i want real matches. But for the challenge its a bless.
1. Bugged ones ("Hit 2 survivors with charged hatchet hits as huntress")
2. Challenges that do not fit the perk or actual gameplay ("Grab 2 survs of a generator whilst using discordance")
3. Repetitive nonsense "Sabotage 20 hooks"

I would love to see selected challenges of other survs endgame. Maybe it would explain part of the solo queue madness.

Worst challenge?

Tome 3 - Escalation "Grenade launcher"
- Hit 2 survivor (s) with a charged hatchet hits as the huntress in a single trial

It's bugged as hell and changed hits are awarded as "precise hits" despite the axe being bully charged to the "ting" sound (the indicator that the axe is fully charged)

Other than that most tomes can be completely easily or under certain killers

So, I won't be able to get all challenges done cos they just... are bugged?
The ones that have me inflict madness on Survivors doesn't work either.
Inflict Madness 1 on all Survivors. I swear I did it. All at once, and in another match, one at a time.
I know it ain't a super important change as opposed to fixing actual gameplay, but, I wanna see the lore and stuff, I've become enticed by the characters and the backstory and stuff.
Also, it just feels good to complete challenges.

Their not all bugged just a select few, Most of them are conditional, RNG or Based on the killer/survivors you're going against, What i did as i gave the bugged ones 10 matches each to work, if they don't work then just skip it and move on
BHVR should let us use the shards to just totally skip a challenge.
Idk how much per challenge, but letting people skip challenges would be HIGHLY helpful with that.

They do tend to fix tome challenges from time to time, seems like they have a seperated team for that or its really easy fixes so they bundle it with other more important ones. If you look at patch notes sometimes you will see tome fixes listed at the bottom of the post. So its not a waste reporting these bugs on the main website if you come across some. I know ive done the challenge with huntress a fiew months ago and it will count some hits eventually. (i was going backwards from newest to older tomes so the last tomes i had to do where tome 1 and tome 2)

Cool idea, i would be on board for that!
The two I think are terrible are; Red Glyph challenges, Escaping the trial challenges.

The Red Glyph ones are literally just trying to find a needle in a haystack. Random spot on every map and no indicator of where they could potentially be.

Escaping the trial challenges are more mixed but are extra annoying, especially the ones where you have to escape meeting certain conditions.
