Perk Question 'Alien Instinct'

Ive been seeing this perk a lot with perk shuffle in game right now and have a quetion.
Alien Instinct:
Whenever you hook a Survivor, Alien Instinct activates:

The Aura of the farthest injured Survivor is revealed to you for 5 seconds.
That Survivor suffers from the Oblivious

Status Effect for 16/18/20 seconds.

I know all that but my question is, does the aura reading work if the only other person injured is actually slugged on the ground? or is it if you are in mend/ injured and running around lol..

Just curious I couldnt find any direct answer just a lot of waffleing

it would be the latter as in the aura is only shown when the person is "injured" but not downed to my knowledge

ok that is what my first thought has been .. but with all the perks ive been going against that are not usually played i was unsure hahaha ty

You are correct. The downed state is not the same as just being injured, they are completely different states from a scripting standpoint.
