She’s definitely a bit overturned rn b/c they need to work out the ai with Snug, but I haven’t heard of any Houndmaster players essentially holding comp teams hostage like SM used to be able to do. Besides, SM is a trap killer-Houndmaster isn’t.
However, I do think her power is over-tuned, but it's not surprising considering how incredibly buggy she is in game. They need to fix her dogs movement, the tug mechanic and finally make her patrol power actually work when pointing to a gen, totem, gate, etc. Until then, I think she's in a decent spot when it comes to a chase power. And no, she's nothing like Skull Merchant.
Yeah that would be the only change she really needs
-u lost distance of someone u want to tunnel- spam search gain for free bloodlust movement speed and avoid losing track of your victim.
-loop is (fair - strong) - spam search them switch to send the dog 80% of the times u will get a hit over a pallet / windows or a M1 for free.
-loop is already bad - good news , u can make it totally uselees for the survivor since the dog and your movement can prevent any form of mindgame unless u suck.
-god loop & god pallets look balanced around her which is soo bad.

And that's one part of her being completely unfair. Another one is her ability to check any gen with insane speed - either by sending just a dog or going after it, which is especially nasty in closed maps. We not even talking about how you will get Deep Wounds if dog spots you during it's Searching Phase and you get hit after that.
She is essentially SM + Knight + insane mobility + strong anti-looper + very powerful forcing mechanics (you can't stay in most loops or places without getting strong chance of getting clapped).
