Old Dbd - a trend
I've been noticing a lot of folks saying they want old dbd back, but you don't. What you really want is the game back when nobody knew how to play the game and we all sucked. Because let me tell you, the QOL of this game now compared to 2016-2018? Night and Day.

No killer misses the V1.00 self-care, or exhaust regen during chase, where survivors would get sprint burst 14 times in one chase and heal themselves 6 times lol.

Or the 5s hook/vault animations... the game has come a very long way, it's us as a player base making it miserable for each other.

I miss the maps actually being ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ dark, the moonlight offerings and the coherent art style. Balance nowadays isn't exactly great either, when the devs dislike anything they'll ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ gut it entirely (SC at 35%, cosmetic medkit rarities, distortion being trashed, DH needing hooks, Deathslinger aim and tr nerfs, Chucky being trashed, SM being purposely hamstrung to be bottom-of-the-barrel, Xenomorph in the PTB being made into a worse-than-prebuff Nemesis, list can go on for a few pages at this rate)

No matter the year balance has always been total trash, but at least back then the game tried to have some amount of eeriness and horror to it's art style and environments. You didn't have floating neon bandages, giant glowing foxtails and turbobright hideous maps that forget that you're supposed to be dead by daylight not surviving in direct sunlight.

Coming up on my first anniversary of playing. I've never seen the classic maps. 😥

i don't miss the 10 minute hatch stand-offs or the old "brand new part meta" where survivors could instantly repair a generator

Something happens to you.... it occurs deep in the mind and everything begins to degrade and crumble when you see four generators completed in the first 20 seconds on the match, Thus i believe thats when a humping killer is born or perhaps even the old insidious basement bubba

Chucky is getting rebuffed. The cooldown was the biggest thing and its getting reverted. Slice and dice is STILL very strong.

Slinger being able to insta shoot was a needed nerf. He is still a decent killer.

SM, I blame the player base, but accurate.

Deadhard NEEDED nerfs. Still a very strong perk, being the 6th most used survivor perk.

Distortion nerf was needed as well. Nobody found it fun to have 2 or 3 people hard commit to hiding ALL game.

You are harping really hard on balance, when its probably better then it ever has been. Is it perfect? No. But balancing A symmetric games isn't exactly an easy thing to do either.

Should we talk about old DBD some more? Infinites all over the place. Double windows at shack. Old legion. No blood lust for killers(rip m1 killers!). I could pull up a bunch of other things that made the game miserable as well.

Old DbD felt goofy, lots of funny moments.

The streamer 'theentityslefthand' once had a hatch standoff that lasted 4 hours and 5 minutes. He eventually got the grab and the survivor called him a tryhard. Some things are consistent at least lol

yeah i remember that xD rough as hell hahahaha
I miss old dbd, because survivors were so strong that winning as a killer actually felt like an achievement and playing solo Q wasn't miserable, because you could pretty much 1v1 a killer.
Now I can listen to music while playing killer and not pay too much attention and I still win vast majority of my games and as a survivor I have to play 4 man SWF every game just to stand a chance.

Old dbd > new dbd
i miss everything about old dbd. The movement. The ridiculous things on both sides. Better matchmaking quality. Ranks meaning something. The spooky seasonal events. The wacky tiles. The maps having actual atmosphere. I couldn't care less about the flaws back then, because at least back then, I can say with confidence, I had fun.
