Stanger Things on the other hand is much more major and popular, and isn't pure horror in the way Hellraiser was. Hellraiser won't have the mainstream popularity or the demand for it to come back in the same way.
This is probably it for the cenobite.
This one tho, idk man. It was a bunch of weird negative licensing stuff that happened, and the fact that he got nothing else after release kinda shows the impact it had from the beginning.
either way i dont like that killer to play or go against soo for me its like MEH.
DEFINETLY A LOST FOR VARIETY BUT TO BE FAIR CENOBITE DESTROYS SOLO Q TEAMS EASILY PRETTY OFTEN.
The issue with Hellraiser is BHVR negotiated with Park Avenue Entertainment, which roped them into that whole NFT scandal, and I'd imagine that would sour any relationship. It was actually the first time they confirmed that no content would ever be coming for a licensed chapter, and it's not like they didn't want to bring us content either.
There was a map planned, and there's concept art for various Pinhead cosmetics. There's a lot of good Hellraiser material to source from with the first two films and the comics. We never got that though.
Now Clive Barker, the original author, has regained rights to the first film and its characters, but only in the US. Park Avenue has international rights and rights to everything after the first Hellraiser.
Obviously Barker wouldn't want to release a project that's only in the US, and Park Avenue isn't going to release anything excluding a major market, so they both must be consulted on any future projects. Therefore this is much more similar to Friday the 13th, not Stranger Things.
That makes it really difficult to get it back due to multiple entities needing to agree to the collaboration. The good news is Barker and Park Avenue are already working together on an HBO project for Hellraiser. The bad news is we don't know how Barker feels about DbD, the current relationship between BHVR and Park Avenue or really how well the relationship between Park Avenue and Barker is going.
The source I got it from was main Field Agent Reaper, and his wording was "It doesn't seem like Clive Barker wants anything to do with Dead By Daylight," and I assumed this was the truth.
