Time to Hire More Devs
4 years later and you still cant get hit detection right. Hit after pallet has been dropped and I have turned to run, then hits me? Hire new devs or give your existing devs more help. Hit detection is not so hard you still cant figure it out after 4 years, that's 1460 days and you are still clueless?

Hi!

Hit-detection works based on your ping and the killer on the server.
If you have a higher ping to the server and a lower ping enemy, his hit will be prioritized and vice versa.

They're sure having hard time with programming, this is not a surprise since it's was first a small indie project then it blew to a million dollar company.

The more they ignore this silly blueprints habit and spaghetti code, the harder it will be for them to actually fix and optimize the game.

Eventually they'll need to flat out start a new game from the ground due to how unstable this game will get.

think about it, they rework a killer, then outta of nowhere 4 other killers get broken, various perks get bugged, different animation disappear, a bunch of sound issues, number of collisiona missing in maps, countless glitches, and one broken survivor model.

If that isn't a red light of how bad the game is getting, then idk what this is.

Hiring more developers doesn't help, it actually hurts. Have you heard the phrase "Too many cooks in the kitchen"? That's what happens when you drag too many people into something you have no understanding of.

I think it's piss poor management more than lack of support.

Hitting with bile using plague is so much fun now! You just puke around and it almost never lands on a survivor unless he stands like straight in front of you. You can imagine how great projectile-based stuff currently works in the game.

That's actually wrong. Behavior was not a small company even before Dead by Daylight.

They even helped design Fallout Shelter for Bethesda, then turned around and used the same exact code to make a western themed game which ended them up in a law suit which they lost, and were forced to take it down.

This company does have the ability to make everything right with this game they just choose not too, all the while they try to appear as DBD is ran by a small company.

I remember that lawsuit, the one time Bethesda's games being a buggy mess worked in their favor! (Won the suit by replicating a bug that was in the initial build of Fallout Shelter that they never fixed for the game they jacked the code to make).

The game is in such a bad state right now
You can’t really blame skins or cosmetics, designers generally don’t work on balance.

It’s just frustrating
This morning l had a game where the killer rage quit, l got my pip, points and challenge done but l got a 5 min dc penalty.

is everyone else just gonna ignore what Seth posted about hit validation? Even gave a link on more info.

Hit detection is server sided.
So who ever has the better ping, gets priority.

I know they helped with multiple games and worked under AAA studios, but i meant that Dead by Daylight was their first main game for the studio that, and it's the game that raised the whole company.

Hit validation is currently active. Another user has linked the source for it before, where it's explained how it works: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/185864/news-hit-validation-beta

And I'm pretty sure, if they want to hire more devs, they have a website for job openings.
