Is hacking/cheating an issue in DBD?

Hello everyone,
I consider buying this game during the current steam sale and I'd like to know if there are any problems with people using hacks or cheats here in DBD. Is there a working anti-cheat in place?

Through reviews and forum posts I'm aware that apparently DBD has major balancing issues on top of a toxic and a salty player environment. Though bad balancing can be fixed with future patches and toxic/salty people are sadly everywhere these days. A cheating free game is much more important to me.

I'm looking forward to hear your insights.

During my gameplay, there are those people who are stupid to gen rush and making the long chases as an distraction to make the other players losing to the killer sided players. They're just getting even more toxic and salty as they're constantly to abuse it's gameplay for cheating and trolling against the normal people.

Hacking/Cheating is not much of a problem. The real problem is the devs breaking their own game and not caring. Boil over meta is 100% nonhacking/cheating yet it is so overused now because it's easy wins at this point.

The amount of toxic survivors who would exploit this to prevent my trickster from reloading his blades is insane. I guess it's similar with Anna.
