New General Perk Called ''Shattered Hope''
If you guys didn't see this perk yet then here you go!

Basically what the perk does is stated here:
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
''Whenever you snuff a boon totem, the totem breaks instead.''

''When you break a boon this way, all survivors in the boons radius are revealed to you for 8 seconds''.

I can already tell you this perk is gonna be amazing with pentimento. But my questions are is why they wouldn't make this perk a base-kit mechanic, oh well.

Try it out when you can and let me know how it is with pentimento.

Boons were already used way less after the last nerf, if this is a true perk coming then the devs just wrecked their entire "new perk" idea of boons because no survivors are going to bring them. Also, if a killer breaks a totem then they are breaking their own NOED and hex plaything ability, seems counter productive to me.

It's a perk in the PTB, I found it while browsing through the new killer perks, if you go on custom game on the killer perks, it will be on page 6.

Welllllllllll I mean, it makes sense as something anyone can get because someone who's new/only has base game doesn't have any other way to benefit from totems with the exception of noed?

Weird perk, odd it isn't just a basic mechanic

Why does everyone just generalize everyone. I've played killer and only used NOED when it was all I had, but haven't since. Also totems are used way less? I just watched my friend play killer and everyone was using boons and when we duo'd survivor a random always had a boon up CoH to be exact. There is no counter play to totems outside of "LULZ LOSER KILLER JUST KICK THEM." Now there might be, wow there goes the devs making everything killer sides... It'll never end.

Fair yeah, I always kind of though about how boons are weird in the sense that they're a mechanic purely accessible by DLC, aka, if you don't own a boon you always have to break the totem as a survivor.

Either way, very mucb a bandaid thing buuuut I mean, pentimento synergy will be pretty neat

Agree that it should have been part of the killers standard abilities, maybe they can snuff it and keep holding the button/key to break it.

Doesn't feel powerful enough given they can just boon another totem, and that totems are actually required for a large amount of killer perks, meaning this fights with those perks for an entire build. If it actually disabled the boon permanently or for a longer period it might be worth it.

I'm always disappointed by the design of 'give survivors/killer ability A' and 'give killers/survivors ability that hard counters ability A'. It just results in games of DbD where half of the abilities are cancelled out leading to less interesting gameplay in the end. Rather than removing totems they should be giving killer a perk which plays off the boons existing in games, like seeing survivors within boon radius, for example, which would make them more double edged.
