EAC crashing, cannot even open game

Ever since the castlevania chapter update this game has been extremely unpredictable on what it wants to do, and most of the issues I'm having are associated with EAC to the best of my knowledge (I am not tech savvy so there is a margin for potential user error, I will admit). At the worst of times EAC will crash the game after the small launch window pops up, then BSOD me, other times it just crashes in the launch window but spares me the BSOD, sometimes it will open the actual game and say EAC cannot be instantiated, then close, and sometimes, on the holy rare occasions will it open the game. I've reinstalled the game multiple times, am up to date on both windows updates and NVIDIA drivers, tried running it as admin, gone through EAC to "repair", and deleted the .sys for EAC as many things online have said to try doing. Still, nothing seems to set me up for being able to open and run the game without issues like I was able to previous to this patch. for. the. past. eight. years.

If anyone can help, it'd be greatly appreciated. I'm at my wits end. I just want to get back to enjoying my favorite game again.

I just have basic microsoft defender. Literally up to the day before the castlevania patch I had absolutely no problems playing... then poof.

I'd maybe try iobit uninstaller. Take out steam and dbd, run trend housecall then malwarebytes to scan for viruses. Kill vpns or other random programs running in background, then reinstall. If that doesn't work there may be gfx settings somewhere. Anything non default you run or that runs in the background could be causing issues.

I am experiencing this today. I got kicked out because of EAC issues.

i disabled my Nvidia overlay i haven't had a problem since not sure if it will help you but it works for me

Okay so I've managed to get into the game two consecutive times now without issues after making both the EAC and EAC_EOS folders as exceptions in my firewall and deleting the aforementioned .sys file in the EAC_EOS folder, (have done so recurrently before each launch of the game to stay on the safe side) then booting up the game after a fresh restart of my pc

according to the crash error code I was getting my problem was related to antivirus/firewall clashes with EAC, the garbage program it is
