"EAC cannot be instantiated" since new update
Since the new Castlevania update I am getting the error above.
I tried deleting it and verifying the files in steam. I tried deleting the whole EAC program and verify again. I restarted my PC before and in between this, and even uninstalled the game and reinstalled but it seems it won't go away. Can someone help me with this please?

Same. Trying a reinstall.

Edit It only happened on my laptop: on my primary, a desktop, all was fine after update.

Edit2 Reinstall solved the problem.

Has BHVR commented on this anywhere? It was clearly caused by the 8.2 update, and validating/reinstalling/etc. have had zero effect. It's pretty frustrating.

добрый вечер, увидела ваш комментарий, столкнулась с такой же проблемой, у вас не получилось ее решить?

I fear I already know the answer.. but is it typical for BHVR to let game-breaking bugs languish like this for days after a release? How frustrating.

A few days ago someone was able to fix an EAC related issue by moving Dbd to the drive where their operating system is installed on. They were using Linux though, so idk if that'd fix the problem for anyone using Windows. Guess it never hurts to try though if nothing else seems to work.

(Steam/PC) I was finally able to get in. The patch corrupted my save file. Here's how I fixed it:
On your Windows Search bar, type the following: %localappdata%\DeadByDaylight\Saved\
Delete the folder named 'PersistentDownloadDir' (this is a hidden folder)
Restart Steam
Launch Dead by Daylight. This should create the folder again as a new one and will get rid of the corruption (if that was the issue).
Hopefully this helps someone!

The files will all be the same as before. Unless it's a pathing issue I don't see it having an affect. Most likely it was something else they did that fixed it.
