Please, do not say sorry. This post actually made a lot of sense and was very thoughtful of others. I find it pretty weird that OP thinks the heartbeat is an advantage, when it's really not. It doesn't help in chases, or with saves, or anything. It is literally just there to help people who have a hard time hearing things, for killers who have a terror radius. It does not affect stealth killers.
It WAS very wholesome for the devs to put it in for people who need help hearing. It is very appreciated.
It's a visual representation of what you can ALREADY hear. Survivors don't get anything additional which they shouldn't be getting outside of base mechanics. They aren't being "given" anything, for "free" or otherwise.
Spies gives a pretty accurate idea of a survivors exact location. The terror radius (or heartbeat) just tells you that killer is somewhere relatively close in a 360 degree radius. They aren't comparable. You should have made the comparison with Whispers, if anything, but even that wouldn't make sense.
This thread is ridiculous.
Also,
I'm calling BS on that one. Unless you're one of those survivors that I get in at least 50% of my games that crouches around the edge of the map and does nothing the entire game, or you strictly play in a 4 stack, this ain't happening unless you're playing against the babies of baby killers.
It's painfully obvious this guy barely touches survivor.
I focus on the highlighted Gens when possible, and especially if one of my team members is working on one so that Deja Vu kicks in for both of us.
When starting it I look around for lockers nearby to duck into when the heartbeat comes up, and if there is none I look for walls to duck behind that I'll be able to crouch-circle if the killer wanders my way.
I use the outer edges of the map to sprint between Gens and that's the only time I really sprint, so literally the opposite of what you assume.
Also I'm solo queue and have literally never been in a composed team of any size.
tl;dr: you were wrong on every count.
They should really notate this somewhere in game. Like where they say "Killer Grade resets on the 13th of every month" they could add a line that states "Killer Grade does not affect matchmaking". Some of us do not look things up and prefer to learn organically.
I believe everything you said before this, but no. You're either exaggerating how often you're not seen by the killer, or like I said you're playing against the babiest of baby killers. It's either one of those or God himself has come down from heaven to personally bless your matchmaking to put actual players on your team.
It's so incredibly rare for me to go a game without getting chased, even when running stealth perks like distortion before it/they were made useless, and it only happens when I get some god tier runner who runs around a killer too dumb to realize when to leave him alone.
Do baby killers check lockers?
Because none of the Killers I've faced check lockers and that's been my biggest advantage; that and not running so I don't leave scratch marks when I hide.
I mention previously in this thread that I had a Huntress match where she even walked right up to the locker I was in but then walked away.
I'm by no means saying i escape every match, just that I escape more often than not so far, thanks to granular heartbeat indication and an abundance of caution. Ghostface and Myers are hell to face, especially the former with his stupid crouching ass, ♥♥♥♥ that guy; Myers I sometimes get lucky and he spends a good bit of the match chasing my team.
The one thing I can tell you about the Killers I face, aside from not checking lockers, is that they do a poor job of rotating to all the Gens to check activity. I can often finish 1 or 2 Gens a match without them ever checking/breaking them.
(and as I killer I learn from all of this and do not repeat their mistakes; though I do sometimes feel like I'm wasting time checking nearby lockers. I've also learned to try to herd players so that if its' down to 1 Gen I can check the remaining 3 and keep pressure on fairly easily)
I often can't hear the heartbeat over the Gens or Music so I find it helps tremendously.
Hey, if it helps you out then go for it :)
Steelseries Sonar audio software is FREE and works with any headset (including my lovely SteelSeries Arctis Nova Pro Wireless tee hee hee). Probs the best audio software I've used to date.
In fact, there is an official DBD preset that you can try (and/or tweak).
You're welcome in advance.

Most games will be solo duo queue lobbies, which is a 80% chance killrate for killer already. If not, then play better.
Also 81% of Survivors haven't reached Silver 1 and I'm on my way to Gold 1
The game is beyond killer sided, and I want it to be balanced for both sides. I don't like easy wins as either killer or survivor.
