As for the post match chat, you can click on the pointer next to the textbox and close it. Ignore the comments and just play your game.
It's unfortunate, but that is just the type of community DBD has. People outside the community think the toxicity in DBD is worse than LoL. I personally got so fed up with it that I only play with anonymous mode on, play the way I want to play, and leave the post-match lobby asap lol
Play for your own fun.
Your job as killer is to kill the survivors. So do that. It's the same thing with survivor. Killers complain that survivors genrush, but you shouldn't slow down just because someone is upset. If you want to do gens fast, do it. If you need to tunnel and/or camp someone out early so you can get a win, do it.
It's like if you played tag in the playground and one of the other kids yells "TIMEOUT" as they're about to be tagged, then they get mad because you didn't stop. It is that ridiculous.
You're not camping, so thats fair.
And don't feel too bad for survivors - play at your best. But what I do out of sheer respect for the survivors is, if I kill 3 of them, I let the last one go. Because my logic is that "winning" is when you all have a great time, right? If the last survivor lasted this long, I think you both won. You got 3 kills and he gets to escape.
And yeah, sometimes it just so happens that the survivors are too good and they all escape, but it's fine. Next game will be better. And it's great that you don't tunnel or camp.
But speaking of insults - every game has its share of sore losers. Just block and report, don't let their salt destroy your mood.
Just play a good game and don't hard tunnel or intentionally slug game and you'll be fine, and if you have to defend a hook then chase the rescuer. You'll probably still get some flak anyways but that's the nature of the beast.
How I play as killer is always determined by how much pressure is being put on me by the survivors. Nobody should be the killer who tryhards every match, even against casual survivors or survivors who are less experienced- and on the flip side, you don't want to be the killer letting yourself get stomped by swf/tryhard survivors because you you're afraid they are gonna whine in post game chat. Neither of those lead to having fun which should be your goal at the end of the day.
The community has always been rough around the edges but the last few months it has seemed particularly nasty (at least in MY EXPERIENCE). I'd strongly recommend just closing the chat window. But if you are just playing to have fun and are a chill guy/gal then that's all good mate! Anyhow GLHF hope to see you in the fog!!!
Opponents will be annoyed in any case, because you play the wrong killer, you use the wrong perks, you use the wrong addons, you use the wrong offering, your ping is too low, your ping is too high.
The best thing you can do -- quit reading forums of people whining constantly.
That said, if you want to play 'fair', here is my suggestions:
Spread hooks, but do not be afraid to tunnel if you need the pressure. Even if it's for one more hook or just to apply deep wounds/slug.
Rotate generator patrols (not recommended for slower killers or killers with setup like Trapper or Hag)
Drop chases if they last too long (Generally just a good idea) usually by the time you hit Bloodlust 2 or a tad after bloodlust 1.
Do not camp hooks unless it's endgame, devs have already stated endgame is fair game to secure kills. Heck, even I think it's fine to patrol your hooks a tad for pressure.
And really, if the survivors are acting goofy or struggling and you take a second to notice, act goofy back and maybe give them some breathing room if you feel like they need it.
