1. Go to the install location. Find the dbd. exe file. Right click. Run as admin.
2. Start the computer from cold. On entry process, go to the safe mode. it varies, but usuall ymeans mashing a F key, like F6 or F8. Take a look and see if there an option in this pre-boot dos bit to carry on in safe mode. then see if the game runs there.
3. I would unintall DBD, and then install it in a different place. If i had a external hard drive or another one in the computer, I would insall it there. Failing that put it on c, but in a different place. Be sure to find the residual file stack on the orignal insall place and delte it.
4. Deauthorise all devices, in Steam/settings/security
thanks, im going to try that
pls let me know if u figure out any ways to fix this
For safety reasons, please back up elsewhere and try again after removing them from the folder.
that file location ? what is it for?
did u read anything that i said?
hey, i think i solved it doing this:
go to the game folder:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Dead by Daylight
right click the deadbydaylight.exe, properties, check "disable fullscreen optimizations"
i think this worked for me, played a couple hours and no errors/crashes ...
nah, i got the same error again...
i played for a couple days without any crashes and now it happened again
i really dont know what to do
So, first I only deleted "pakchunk1-windows(dot)pak" and re verified the files via steam's file verification and then I deleted the "pakchunk3059-windows(dot)ucas", verifying it too so that Steam would detect that those specifics files are missing and will re-download them.
You can find the pak folder as listed, via Steam open DBD properties>Installed Files>Browse>DeadByDaylight>Content>Pak .
Delete the file that is causing the error only, then via Steam DBD properties>Installed Files>[Verify Integrity of game files] click on it so that it can detect the missing file and reacquire anew.
Hopefully this helps~~ GLHF!
