Keep an eye on that timer because if a killer knows you have it then they'll just slug you

It means even 'when you failed the QTE the first time' ?
If devs left the 5 second stun, then DS would be much better than OTR, but now it is better to play with OTR because these 4 seconds are terrible, the distance is sometimes not enough to reach a normal tile especially against fast killers (for example Dolls m2 attack will easily catch up with you after being stunned by DS so 4 seconds are not enough and should be reverted to 5)
if you do consiptious action, (like healing yourself or do gens etc.) the system automatically thinks that you are in safe state zone n you can start doing objectives so they implimented this mechanic of disabling your perk.
