Longer hook stages?
Can't find any info about this, seems like a terrible idea though

they had made gen times longer but didn't touch hook times, making camping more effective. that's why they're adding an extra 10 seconds now

There are already 2 perks to extend hook timers. Camaraderie and Reassurance. Use them maybe ?

there's also perks to make gens take longer, so maybe use them too and we can have 65 second gens again

Read the Patch notes on the communityhub then.
When they posted about the upcoming PTB, that's where they explained the whole situation.
Still not a good idea, but there had to be some downside to all the Killer buffs lately.

dont worry about hook times too much, it will almost never comes into play unless the killer is camping or survivors dont go for saves until its almost too late, otherwise youll probably be unhooked within the first 20 seconds rendering that extra time completely worthless

just 10 ?, that's really not much. people making a stink about 10 extra seconds is sorta weird
Survivors made a stink when gens went from 80 to 90 seconds during the meta shake up. Killers felt stronger when this update went live. So hook stages 10 secs longer was kinda mandatory at that point.

Yeah, but they took a baseball bat to the knees of the perks that were actually effective at extending the gen timer. C&R still work at full effectiveness

Edit: Not saying this change shouldn't happen; I get that folk SHOULDN'T lose a hook state because their team didn't rescue them, and it helps Solo Que, which is definitely a good thing. But it's one of those changes that, because of SWF, becomes a tool to ignore the person on the hook for an extra 10 seconds, getting 30 seconds of gen repair done while you're on comms about when you have to rescue.

To be honest this will not help solo Q in the slightest but SWF will definitely abuse this change.

you have to do all 90 seconds of a gen, you don't have to go through all 70 seconds of a hook stage

It gives the potatoes on your team another 10 seconds to realize that they have to actually be the person to unhook you XD

It will almost always come into play. Like yes camper will be weaker but the gen before friend strat is going to be way better now even now i mostly save last sec or i leave the hooked guy go to second stage if i think my gen is more important.

The reasonning is bad too like yeah we add 10 sec to gen so we are adding 10 sec to the hook its only fair but if they really want to make it fair they would add 7 sec to the hook and not 10 sec because right now those change are more severe to the killer its just a % kind of thing.
It's probably gonna have a bad effect on serious games but the extra 20 seconds will be useful when I want to free a hooked survivor being screwed over by their team.
