Maximum number of Dream Traps increased to 10
Survivors can no longer wake up by failing skill checks
Robert Englund's Freddy Visceral Cosmetic with voice lines and a new mori
Survivors now have a longer sleep timer, being in radius of killer lulls them to sleep faster, and they can wake up using clocks before falling asleep to avoid the dream world
You nailed it! This is everything I'd want from a Freddy re-work
EDIT: it's not just me being pessimistic; I can't think of a more difficult horror villain to put in a game, and have it actually be faithful to the source material. He's a dream god, and he likes to get extremely creative with his powers...even creating elaborate situations that are specifically designed to have personal significance to his target. Everything about him breaks the sort of mold that DBD killers have to fit into, gameplay-wise.
Scrap the "wake" mechanics altogether. No more wake up action, no more alarm clocks. Freddy as we know and love him operates 95% of the time in the dream world. Keep him there.
Offer both snares and pallets at will, this can be mapped to different buttons.
Give Freddy a terror radius that can benefit from the various perks that are currently useless to him.
Either make it possible to teleport to already completed gens (even in EGC) or change how he teleports in the first place.
Instead of Freddy being invisible at certain distances, I would rather see him appear as another survivor up until like 12 meters or so. It fits Freddy a bit more than just phasing in and out of sight. He pulls the disguise act in many of the movies.
New map. Full scale boiler room akin to Nightmare 1.
Englund skin with lines and a new Mori.
From his power Wiki "Freddy Krueger can invade people's dreams and kill them within their nightmares, which will also kill them in reality. He usually uses his clawed glove, but can also manipulate the dream world in any way he wants, such as sucking them into a bed, a comic book, or a videogame, making them fall, extending himself, or turning them into an insect. On some occasions, he can possess people, though unlike when Jason does this in Jason Goes to Hell, the victim can survive" Lowkey while "whacky" does sound kinda fun
Characters in DBD aren't exactly "lore accurate" for obvious reasons but i do think with freddy there should be an exception, As we have seen in the movies, almost all of his kills/work is done in the "dreams" of survivors, very very rarely do they ever "wake up" in the movies before freddy kills them and so instead of "waking up" the characters should resort to keeping themselves awake (much like i need to when i come across hag) things like caffeine "pills" in the movie (or just coffee if BHVR is worried about incentivizing drugs) or ice buckets even, Are a few ways survivors could keep themselves awake, However once a survivor falls asleep, they shouldn't wake back up
Other things they could add? Those creepy ass girls singing freddys song during the dream world, more customisation for freddy that we have already seen in the movies such as a "Chef's" outfit, A "Bus Driver" outfit, A "Surgeon" Outfit, A Tuxedo, And if you google right now "Freddy's Dead Wizard of Oz" you even get to see freddy in a witch costume which sounds stupid but kinda funny
Hopefully a full blown make over.
I mean, the guy has been wearing the same clothes since November 16, 1984.
The guy's chase music could be Xanadu.
