I don't have a build for him per se (I randomize perks quite a bit to try new things), but Nowhere to Hide is a great perk for pairing with the gen teleportation ability (and its add-ons).

The usual go-to's are not bad on him either (Sloppy Butcher, Save the Best for Last), and I have had a lot of devious fun with Hex: Huntress' Lullaby with him quite often!

full slowdown and information perks, if the gens are done, you are basically done for and cant use half of your power

He is a simple M1 killer with a weak chase power and a teleportation ability.
I recommend meta perks such as:
- Corrupt intervention
- Deadlock
- Scourge hook: Pain resonance
- Grim embrace
- Pop goes the weasel
- Surge
Mix these in with some information (something like BBQ, Discordance, Tinkerer, etc).
If you want a build dedicated to winning as much as possible I'd personally go with:
- Grim Embrace
- Deadlock
- NOED
- No way out or an information perk

My go to build is:
1) Corrupt Intervention
2) Surge
3) Gearhead (fits perfectly for his teleport)
4) Bambooze or Dead Man's Switch.
Gearhead and Dead Man's Switch both useful for fakes with teleport.

Addons:
1) Z-block / Cat block (his absolutely best addon)
2) Black Box or Red Paint Brush

Nowhere To Hide is one of those perks that I just straight up do not use anymore because it made games too easy. If you're struggling, this perk is GOD tier.

My favority build with freddy is oppression, surveillance, overcharged and brutal strengh or hex lullaby. Im only using that build with the addon that make the survivor lose regression when they miss a skill check.

With the buff to oppression i think this build will be viable on freddy.

I usually go for a skill check build with both his skill check addons. It is a bit evil since my games can last 20 minutes.

Hmm...seems like I play Freddy in a different way than most.
Try: Make Your Choice, Friends 'til the End, Deadlock, Hex: Devour Hope OR Hex: No One Escapes Death. Surge is also a good 4th pick, if you don't want to roll the dice on a hex actually working out.
For addons, one that reduces teleport cooldown, and anything that gives dream pallets.

Pretty simple to use...you can even use your teleport to get away from the hook quickly, if you need to.
Additional Tip: the same perk build works extremely well on Dredge.

ANY "terror radius" perks dont work with his Lullaby, means that will be useless against survivors in dreamworld.
Same for survivor perks (Scene Partner in example).

He has Z-block addon, that more faster way to get info, than kick gen. And z-block is impossible to counter with Distortion etc

I use my build in all games and on all killers...
wow! thanks for feedback about my build. I got your point of view but i disagree with you in many moments.

Freddy need Corrupt Intervention because his teleport not available from start of the trial (its on cooldown), and if survs are lucky with spawn they can repair 1/3 of 2-3 gens before he found someone - and thats big disadvantage for "m1" Killer. Also main strenght of that perk is that the Killer have way more possibility to control certain 3-4 gens.
p.s. "Corrupt Intervention" is best perk in entire game in my opinion, it gives SO much value every trial.

Gearhead perk on practice proc very often, its gives you it value few times in every match. Just try it! Its way better than many players think.
And this perk has another GREAT effect - it exterminate Distortion' stacks in ~20 seconds (3 skill checks on gens).

I use Surge because it saves so many time for the Killer, because you dont need to travel to gens to kick it. i dont care about "anti triangle system" - its block gens quite rarely to worry about, and i dont like long time matches generally.

Last month instead of some "aura" perks i just use "Spies from the shadows". Thats hidden gem, it gives so many info, and it works passively. its great for stealth or half-stealth (= Freddy) Killers especially.

I like "Trail of torment" perk too but not on Freddy. Glad it got buff recently.

My general build:

Rapid Brutality - I find Bloodlust takes too long to kick in, if I want the chase to end quicker, the distance needs to close sooner.

STBFL - I think this works well with Rapid Brutality. When the hit cooldown is lessened, you get more time with the haste benefit, making it more viable for ending chases.

Thrilling Tremors - This skill has a lot of benefit to it. Aside from blocking the gens, this can work as a detection perk. If a generator is not blocked when you pick someone up, it means someone is working on it. As Freddy, you know where you wanna teleport to next.

The fourth perk depends on my mood or what survivors are bringing to the trial. Usually it's either Lethal Pursuer so I can see where they're at and pick someone to focus on, or Coup De Grace just to see that Freddy Lunge get even better.

I stick to snares instead of dream pallets. I think they have more use and are more robust. Freddy is an M1 killer that can do what a few other killers can do (poorly). He's my main but I know he's seriously behind the curve. With add-ons I stick to the Iri Paintbrush and either the Yellow or Purple Block. Killer Instinct after you teleport to an obviously occupied gen made him a bit more viable IMO.

I mean yeah, we're kind of in a point right now where there's basically one build that works on every Killer.
