1. After Nick Cage and Dungeons & Dragons, I think it can be Horror Adjacent instead of purely horror
2. Lara Croft is specifically from the prequel/reboot which while not a straight up horror game, has a much bleaker and survival orientated tone than the normal Tomb Raider games. The opening of which is a pretty traumatic experience for the heroine.
3. Many of the killers are themed after old civilizations, meaning they'd be a surprisingly good fit for Lara Croft. Specificially Plague, Hag, and Pyramid Head especially fit this bill
4. The REmake 3 version of Jill (the version of Jill pllayable in this game) was heavily based on reboot Lara
5. Honestly I'm surprised it wasn't Solid Snake (that was my guess) who is even less Horror orientated
6. Lara Croft has no shortage of potential skins, and I'd imagine that means $$$$
7. Oddball choices that aren't purely horror bring in new players.
and finally
8. Non-Horror Survivors aren't really a problem, when they start adding non-horror killers then we're gonna have an issue (admittedly Vecna is kinda pushing it for my taste, but he's fun and spooky so I can't be too upset about that, but like... say one day they add for example Bowser as a killer, that'd be a little sus)
I was a little disappointed that the other member of the Troupe was a boring male human (I guess BHVR wanted a "safe" survivor and WOTC wanted something a little more on brand.. kinda wish the human was something more interesting like an orc or something)
It does suck that they have the license for Dungeons and Dragons and they go with the safest choices possible, also the cosmetics for Aestri are SO BAD, i ain't buying a single one until it's the Dragonborn cosmetic.
Naw if there's ever a third Capcom Collab, I could see it being an Ethan Winters survivor with Lady Dimetrescu with Mr. X being a new skin for Nemesis (And hopefully Nemesis' trench coat design from the original RE3)
Though I will admit, as much as I'd want Lady D... I'd also love a Dead Rising collab that gave us Frank West and Slappy as our Survivor/Killer.
Though the Lady D is much more likely because it's safe, plus it could come with a bunch of skins, maybe even Barry Burton if there were two survivors.
Mr. X as a Nemesis skin, Lady Hunk for Franklin, Jill finally getting her RE5 outfits (BSAA and Wesker Controlled), Rebecca getting some new skins (RE: Director's Cut outfit, the more Jill themed RE0 prototype design, the Wesker Controlled variant from the remaster)
1. How is this game not horror exactly?
2. you really gonna dis a father using his influence to do a pleasant surprise for his kid, one that the whole world can enjoy at that? Sides it opens the door for future Real World survivors, maybe even someone more influencial in the Horror Genre. (Sam Raimi survivor anyone?)
I'm cool with that, it means we're more likely to get Horror IPs we couldn't in the past
1- Because it's not scary. Other than Ghostface on occasion and Scratched Mirror Meyers, this is hide n seek, not horror. You hear the killers coming from a mile away. Hard to be genuinely afraid in that case.
2- Who said I was dissing that? I think that was a great thing on his part to actually do it for his kid. I was pointing out that it wasn't BHVR who sought HIM out, but the other way around. He likely approached THEM at the urging of his kid and went forward with it. Which is great!
1. It can be if you're playing as the Survivor, as the Killer? No not at all (Plus let's be real, most "Horror" media is actually "Dark Fantasy" media in disguise)
2. Oh sorry it can be hard to read tone through text and I interpreted the original statement as bitter mockery. My bad.
2- I see. Glad that was cleared up.
