Speaking from my perspective, the devs take in consideration only situations like if a big gun speaks publicly about a problem, as he supposes, they desperately need to fix it (yeah, it has only taken them 5 year). Unless they don't recieve some big public pressure on them, they won't even fix it and for me it is nauseuos and two-faced. In addition to that, I am an owner of the laptop, who had been playing for almost 4 years with stretched res, and I, personally, don't understand why the heck this life-saving feature (for me) has been removed (no obvious reasons to).
What have i got now? The game, which is constantly freezing and lagging, otherwise, I have to be playing with textures quality so blurred that I can't see properly. And futhermore, I should learn new timings of moonwalking, looping and even hitting a survivor as the killer (yeah, I was perplexed as well). Hope a community dbd tinkerer will find a way to evade this BS, as they always did to other abolishments.
I mean there are few ways to bring the stretched res back without blackbars but u wont be able to get smth like 800x1080.
Stretched res allowed a nurse to see normally when she was supposed to be looking at the floor during blink fatigue.
That's a simple answer as to why it needed to go. There were many more reasons- in short it gave a huge advantage that was not meant to be a part of the game and only helped to create a gap between the very best players and the "middle tier".
How come does stretched resolution even gives you extra FOV in the first place ? "bad game design" How about you simply give FOV depending on the resolution so it's balanced for everyone the smaller the res the bigger the multiplier. I personally played counter strike since 2009 and i always used 4:3 in General. My friend who plays the game also has a small monitor which darkens most of his monitor ?
also don't start assuming those stuff "I liked how it looked" "cheater" and such. Or call me toxic or whatever.
y'all forcing everyone to run on 1920x1080 meanwhile there's like 30% of steam users that don't own that.
And lets be honest EVERY single steam user played counter strike, or at least experienced stretched resolutions
Putting in Black Bars on the top & bottom just tells me that the developers don't have time to try to fix that, or improve their game's engine and optimization. Or at least try to add some new custom resolution modifiers in game Instead of using the Default resolution on your desktop. Quite funny a game on 2022 that doesn't have True full screen. Shame
So funny that they didn't remove the FOV gained, but instead eat 30% of someone's monitor lmao.
Just tested some resolutions, this black bars thing simply forces you to run 1920x1080, and nothing else, tried smaller resolutions although they're 16:9 yet i still had em.
WE WANT STRETCHED SCREENS, NOT EXTRA FOV's.
