How to play against the strong survivors' looping as the huntress?
I play huntress for some time now and realized some survivors were quite strong against my huntress.

I have not learned how to hit the survivors through above the wall, so for roughly half the time I rely on injuring the survivor when he drops the pallet, with hatchet.

Some survivors are quite good. They know, when we were close to the pallet, if I wind up, he continues the looping. If I do not, he drops the pallet and may stun me. Since winding up hatchet take a little bit time, the survivors were able to utilize it. This technique is sometimes used with some mind game, for instance faking that he wants to drop the pallet but actually not.

I wonder what is the strategy to counter this kind of stunning Technique and fake dropping?

I don’t play huntress but most of the hatchets I get are because I didn’t notice her sneaking up and throwing while I’m on a gen. Her terror radius is huge with her lullaby so maybe try starting a chase with someone with the intention of breaking it 5 seconds later to throw a hatchet at the person who thinks you are ignoring them to chase

I kinda wanna try playing her now, fake a chase then spin around and aim at the other person who thought I was ignoring them

Often the survivors do not cluster in nearby locations. What I feel is you would need good information perk and also extraordinary aim accuracy to have long shot. And if you injures like 3 or 4 in the match, the gens would still being fixed slowly and the killer would go to the losing side. I think the Huntress work best when the survivors are too altruistic and running in nearby locations. But when they do not, when two players play really good and always wanted to be chased, it becomes difficult for me.

Yes you should try her. I think she is one of the most enjoyable killers.

theres no counter to fake dropping, you either respect it or disrespect it or you have a build that negates pallets, same as you hugging them with a hatchet up and them trying to dead hard it

theres no tell when the release happens so its up to a pure gamble whether you get hit you or not

You don’t have to fully charge a hatchet to throw it. You can bring it up and throw. Bit slower than a charged throw. And the arc is different. But gets the job done at pallets and walls.

Still wind up the hatchet took time and also during the cancel the killer also move slower. They read your animations closely. The time earned by not dropping pallet when you wind up is already quite enough for another full circle of looping. Good survivors hug the wall and the stones etc also travels less distance.

If someone is professional about it then I cannot get him down within several tiles.

IMO just throw you hatchets, don't aim at the head but at the torso and just give up if you can't catch them quick enough - someone else will make mistake eventually as you travel from gen to gen.

You don't have to wind it up completely to throw it, it travels less distance and slower, but much smaller wind up time.

Practice, throw those hatchets over obstacles. Miss the shot. if you don't you won't learn.

Find out what type of survivors you're facing by throwing them between loop tiles. Aim at the corner, throw it, if they dodge before they turn, learn that. If they run straight into it, learn that. Everybody reacts differently.

Get an info perk/add-on so you can see them.
Aura when fast vaulting.
Aura when hit.
Aura when you hook someone.
Aura when your obsession is hooked.
Aura when you open a locker.
Scream when you open a locker.

If you know where they are, they're easier to hit.

Let them drop the pallet, break the pallet and get them while they run towards another tile. Best answer I can give you as a killer player that plays huntress at times but not that much

I play as huntress sometimes and I’ve also faced huntress as a survivor.

I’ve witnessed some huntresses utilize lethal pursuit , on an open location, to take shots from across map.
Edit: highly situational with adept/pro huntresses. (I am neither of those lol)

It may startle people if you bring a huntress with enduring or the spirits breaking pallets. Some may think twice before dropping that pallet cause you’ll plow thru it and swipe at them.

I also like adding the addon, Amanita Toxin, to her hatchets to make the survivors have blindness for a bit when hit.

She’s slower so sometimes I’ll add bamboozle to her build.

Edit: I’ll also bring soldiers puttee where, if I run out of hatchets, her speed is boosted to 4.6. So bringing that with enduring and running out of hatchets will push the huntress better for loops.

You got this
