Why does game chat censor such ridiculous things?

So finished a game, was taken off the hook at the end by somebody using Chris Redfield, who gave me BT allowing me to escape by killer into nearby gate.

In after chat I type "Thanks for the BT Chris"

Except both "BT" and "Chris" are censored out. And "Thanks for the ** ****" actually makes it look like I could be saying something toxic, for example to the killer, when I'm actually not at all.

So why is both the name of one of the characters, and the common abbreviation for one of the perks, even censored anyway? Pretty ridiculous.............

Same happened to me, a lot. Still i can´t tell what the filter will censor and what not. Sometimes it will censor a word just one and litrally the next sentence you can use it again.
But I also looked like I said something toxic, already. Sometimes chat filter will be funky.

Freedom of speech has nothing to do with it, you are on their game, they decide what can and cannot be said (it may be idiotic but they are not taking a right away from you because you agreed to their terms of service) It's the same as going to a restaurant or whatever, you can't start insulting people and expect to not get kicked out in 5 seconds.

Its not even consistand, sometimes something is censored sometimes not. I swear yesterday i wrote "It was pretty boring" and the result was "** *** pretty boring".

It seems they developed the algorithym by themself and it became some kind of retarded AI.

They used the same script code for the word filter as they did the matchmaking.

Yeah the chat filter is absolute lunacy. Common words, completely sterile phrases, and even names of in-game characters are censored at complete random. The censor also seems to change day by day, because things censored yesterday aren't censored today but might be censored tomorrow.

I'm all for a basic chat filter to catch really toxic things like slurs and what-not, but no chat filter is as intense and unfathomably brutal as DBD's. You can hardly have a stable conversation in the game at this point, entirely friendly comments that are meant to compliment other players or give them tips for future games get butchered into ### ### ######### #### ##### ### ###### ##### ## ###### ###. Like, seriously? Just disable chat for everyone at this point, it's entirely worthless.
