Yeah, this sums it up. Watching content is the best way to understand it.
As they said, the killer side is complex, but it is easier to learn it if you have your own objectives...
And forget the kills as your first goal, it is pointless in the beginning...
Also, reload simulator.
I do agree with this, and in part was how I learned not to be afraid of taking shots I wasn't 100% sure of, or getting a better understanding of "leading" the throw, and predicting how a Survivor is likely to path when they know a hatchet is about to fly.
Also, depending on what other perks you may have, there are a few I liked/ helped a bit:
- I'm All Ears (Ghost Face): even if unable to get a hit from seeing their aura, this perk is really great to learn Survivor patterns when trying to evade (i.e. "Ok, this Survivor likes to vault as soon as possible, and get to a pallet to pre-throw it, which I noticed as an M.O. of other survivors in previous matches", etc)
- Zanshin Tactics (The Oni): If fairly new to the game in general, this is a nice one to get a feel for vault & pallet locations, and (make a strong attempt) to throw a hatchet for one beelining for a window or downed pallet.
Also, don't be afraid to have bad games with her! Sometimes the best way to learn is to jump in and try <3 There are custom matches as well, either with bot Survivors, or can have friends join as Survivors in a custom to just practice hatchet throws!
This is my new favorite thing to do for fun, but it actually works often too! I just had 3 matches in a row where I killed 3 with this lol. Sometimes it doesn't work because they might all go for the other exit, but that's actually quite rare that all 4 go there.
