Did they change how pallets work?
Before this event, I hadn't really played much in a while. But I swear I used to be able to stand to the side of the pallet, and pull it down as the killer went through. Now I do this and the killer gets right in the pallet, I am mashing pull down, and then they hit me without the pallet going down.

It's happened to me a few times recently where nothing happens while standing next to the pallet. I've also recently experienced an issue where I cannot heal someone, as I do not get a prompt at all (not broken) and they start flashing their light and there's literally nothing I can do to heal them. Very bizarre.

The pallet thing is really frustrating, I may not be a good P100 but it is making me look like absolute ass.

if your ping is above 50 then yes, its common to trade hits or just get hit because you cannot drop the pallet on reaction due to high ping

I think I've had this issue for like two years now. I have noticed recently (in the last 9 months) they have been making adjustments so where you stand and where your character is facing effects how the pallet is pulled down and where your character goes as you pull. But I think the no option to pull has gotten common because most players understand either they are off or I am off and it's not prompting. Usually one of you needs to be clearly on one side and the other on the other side... but close... and not in the middle... and not on the same side. It's just extremely picky now at this point. On PC anyways. I think it's still more relaxed on console based on other players in my games. Solo Q 99.9% of the time so it could be they are on Microsoft or Epic alternatively.
I think what happens at a pallet is a ping test between you and the killer. Results are pallet stun other side. pallet stun same side, pallet stun other side but hit, pallet stun same side and hit (rip if they have enduring), and if you wait too long to throw they occupy the space and prevent the throw. If the ping difference is large the hit will be refunded.

I'm just gonna predrop pallets now like a n00b.

Things happens when you Shift+W + Space in front of pallet, dropping anim so takes time although killer usually preshots his hit really early. Maybe to stop & crouch behind the pallet, backward, or predrop works better...

I figured out what's going on, kinda. If I'm holding down run, the area to drop a pallet is a lot more finicky. When I let go of run, a spot that wouldn't let me drop pallet, will let me drop pallet. Never been a problem before, but now I have to get used to letting go of run when I want to drop a pallet, then pressing it again to start looping.

I'm not sure when this change happened, prior to this anniversary event I hadn't been playing that much.

As far as I know, there is a bug with female survivors where they sink into the pallet a little when throwing it. You can see it in game when doing a running throw. This makes it more likely that you will be hit through the pallet, so play male survivors I guess...

There is a bug that after you drop a pallet it will like stuck you in one place instead of moving with pallet drop animation

I've been doing way better since I started letting go of run when I want to drop a pallet. I've even had killers give up on chasing me, which rarely happens cuz I'm such a n00b. :8bitheart:
