The 2m cap is for points earned during normal gameplay, so matches, archive challenges, and daily rituals.
Any points gained through promo codes, login rewards or grade reset do not count towards this cap, and so allow you to have more than 2m at a time.
The process goes like this. Cap your BP at 2 million, wait for the devs to give out enough free BP to go over the cap and by the time that 3 months goes by and the new chapter comes out, you'll have more than enough to P3 at least 2 different characters all thanks to the devs not actually capping it. So they say they don't want us to max out a character on release, yet they are the reason I've been able to do just that for the past 10 or so releases...
They want me to stop having characters P3'd on release then stop giving out so many damn BP for free... xD
I do the exact same thing. Reaching the bp cap --> inserting bp codes / weekly reward --> waiting for the next chapter and playing other games --> going back and repeat.
If "People like you" spend your points, you won't hit the cap. They even made spending BP brainless to the point of just clicking one button per page. It's not the dev's choices driving you to abandon the game when you're maxed, it's your choices.
the cap only hurts normal players
