fps stuck at 70 after a few minutes
well I got a new pc like 2 months ago and since then I've always been able to run dbd at a constant 120 fps with graphics on low

but for some reason in the last few days I've been having a constant drop in fps

basically after about 5 to 10 minutes of doing anything (even just looking at skin) the fps drops out of nowhere to 60

Then the fps is on average 76 fps or something like that with drops of up to 40

the fps limit is at 120 and sometimes the fps goes back to 120 for a few minutes but then goes back to 60 It's like it's somehow limiting my fps

I really don't know what could be causing this, my PC can clearly run 120 fps fine but for some reason nothing has fixed this

I tried changing the resolution

reinstall the game

reset settings

and some other things but nothing seems to work 70 fps isn't bad, but when it drops like that competitively, it's a big disadvantage

well I don't understand much about temperature but I think it says something about 70°c of the gpu both at 120 fps and at 70

cpu temp?

I think,
this is the only thing that appears as temperature in the Nvidia interface
and I think it's ok since this is 10 more temperatures compared to Fortnite which, unlike DBD, is running at 120 fps without dropping

Game is really weird sometimes... Check if you're in full-screen mode. I also use: -fullscreen (right clic dbd properties, launch option)

Wiindowed or full-screen windowed are a big no for me.

does it do this in any other game?

I don't play that many heavy games
But games like fortnite and valorant run at 120 easily and without drops
dbd used to be one of these a little while ago

By any chance did you upgrade / wipe your graphics drivers recently? This sometimes happen to me because it has to rebuild shader / asset cache. UE4 has poor implementation for doing so.

Update drivers, If youre using something like reshade disable it. You can check CPU temps and other useful things with something like CPU-Z/CPUID. Also make sure you're playing on the correct Resolution.

How is it that you know that you're actually using Fullscreen Exclusive?

For the record -fullscreen ironically only does anything when you're running the game in Windowed mode, not fullscreen windowed mode or Fullscreen Exclusive mode so I'm not sure why you or anyone else would use it unless they think that it does something which it does not do.

I've seen this in a old video for increasing fps. For me without this, I swear, my fps and game is laggy and unplayable.

Then you've got some borked settings in your GameUserSettings.ini

I'd be interested to see what's going on so if you're interested in finding out super quickly and easily just grab FrameView from Nvidia Website. It's tiny and easy to use, I made a video a year or two ago showing how easy it is to use and how useful it can be.

I decided to record a new one so it's more current and if you check it out you'll see that it's simple to use you don't even need to reboot just install it and fire up DBD to see what's going on with your setup as it is right now, and then you can shut down DBD and remove -fullscreen and fire it back up to see what if anything changes. I'd like to see as well so if you have 3 minutes to spare check it out and let me know! : )

EDIT: Details are in video description so it's better to watch on YouTube rather than here!
